There are around 188,000 people living in Scotland with a significant degree of sight loss. 10 10 The total annual cost of sight loss in Scotland is close to £500million.
Stopping people losing their sight unnecessarily Over 50 per cent of sight loss in Scotland can be avoided. We do all we can to reach the people most at risk of losing their sight with crucial eye health messages and to ensure that potentially sight-saving treatments are available to all. 11 11
