C. Notification/Admittance<br />
A notification/admittance letter will be mailed to you approximately two weeks before the exam date. This<br />
letter will indicate the exam to be taken, the exam date, reporting time, and the exact address of the examination<br />
site or center. It will also list the materials that will be allowed in the examination site on the day of your<br />
exam. You must take this letter with you to the examination location. You will be required to show it to the<br />
proctor to gain entrance to the exam room. In addition to the letter, you will be required to show your<br />
driver’s license, or a state-issued ID or a government passport. A Social Security card is not acceptable as a<br />
form of positive identification. If your letter is lost, notify IAPMO immediately and request a duplicate.<br />
D. Rescheduling an Examination<br />
If you are unable to take the exam as originally scheduled, you must reschedule at least 10 days prior to<br />
the exam date. Rescheduling less than 10 days prior to the examination date will require a rescheduling<br />
fee of $50.00. If you do not show up for a scheduled examination and you failed to reschedule, all fees<br />
paid will be forfeited and are nonrefundable.<br />

E. Examination Results<br />
After the examination is completed, the answer sheets and test booklets are returned to the proctor at<br />
IAPMO. Strict procedures are followed to ensure accuracy. Exam results will be mailed within four weeks<br />
of the examination date. Results cannot be given over the telephone. Scores will only be given to the individual<br />
candidate.<br />
F. Requests <strong>For</strong> Special Accommodations<br />
IAPMO takes its social responsibility seriously and is strongly committed to providing reasonable accommodations<br />
to examination candidates, code development delegates, and seminar participants, who have<br />
documented disabilities recognized under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). All requests for<br />
accommodations will be evaluated in accordance with IAPMO’s documented administrative procedure<br />
and criteria. Guidelines and an application form on provided at<br />

G. Address Or Name Change<br />
If you desire to change the mailing address entered on the application form, you must inform IAPMO in<br />
writing. Name changes are handled in the same manner.<br />

Registering <strong>For</strong> and Taking a State-Specific NITC Examination<br />
The following state-specific examinations are developed and maintained by IAPMO and are administered by the <strong>National</strong> Inspection,<br />
Testing and <strong>Certification</strong> Corporation (NITC).<br />
California: Registration for California State-Specific Examinations involves the same procedures rules, and application<br />
as for the <strong>National</strong> Examinations.<br />
Minnesota: Registration for Minnesota’s State-Specific Examinations requires a special application form which<br />
must be requested from IAPMO’s <strong>Certification</strong> and Testing Department.<br />
