The <strong>pub</strong>lications mentioned are sent to the Olympia Genealogical Society in exchange for our <strong>Quarterly</strong>.<br />

They are filed alphabetically by state and county in the vertical files in the genealogical section of the<br />

Olympia Timberland Library. Some of them are eventually bound and placed with bound periodicals in<br />

storage at the Montesano Library and Timberland Regional Library Service Center. Anything in<br />

storage can be requested through your local library.<br />

Mason County West Virginia Genealogical Society November 2011. A scary article on Digital Formats,<br />

What the Future Holds and How We Can Hopefully Save Some of These Photos and Other Records<br />

for Our Great Grandchildren. On the lighter side: There Will be Piles: How to be a Genealogist's Spouse<br />

and Tips on How to Survive.<br />

Tama County Iowa October 2011. This issue features records and biographical stories and pictures of<br />

Columbia twp. Also the conclusion of Carlton twp 1860 census.<br />

Weirs and Woods, Washington County Maine Genealogical and Historical Society has an interesting<br />

article on Maine in the Civil War and a long article remembering Brevet Major General John Curtis<br />

Caldwell. There are many other articles in bulletins about the Civil War since it is the 150th anniversary.<br />

Northeast Washington Genealogical Society October 2011. Compute This tells us about free ancestry<br />

databases and how to access them. Other news on Stevens County is of interest to those researching that<br />

area.<br />

Crawford County Kansas Genealogical Society of Northeast Kansas November 2011. Some<br />

information covered is: Letter from France 24 Nov 1918, Indian Home Guard: War Within a War and<br />

Ministers in Early Days in Kansas<br />

Whitman County Genealogical Society November/December 2011. Personal interviews of early pioneers<br />

were collected in 1936-7. 27 Interviews were done by Fred Yoder and are being <strong>pub</strong>lished here with<br />

permission of his daughter. The 1st in the series is the story of Mrs. Sarah J. Wohleter. She was born in<br />

Iowa in 1850 and was a cousin of Thomas Edison.<br />

Washington State Genealogical Society Newsletter November/December 2011. This issue was copied<br />

for our file by Pat Harper so take a look. There is a special tribute to Alma Greenwood by Jerri McCoy.<br />

Toledo (Lucas County, Ohio) Area Genealogical Society December 2011. Something For Next Year,<br />

gives the meaning behind the symbols of the 12 days of Christmas which was written as a catechism song.<br />

e.g. Jesus was the partridge, 2 turtledoves were new and old testaments and 4 calling birds were the 4 gospels.<br />
