I wish to extend a warm invitation to all
to attend the Roscommon International
Reunion. I look forward to welcoming you
back to County Roscommon in August. This
will be a unique opportunity for people
from Roscommon or with Roscommon
connections living all over the world to
reunite in Roscommon.
I wish to thank Roscommon associations
in Boston, Chicago, New York, Birmingham,
London, Manchester, Dublin and Galway for
their continued support. The associations
have been great ambassadors for County
Roscommon and the International Reunion
brings you all together for ten days of
celebration, enjoyment and remembrance.
The Roscommon Associations create a
sense of belonging and identity for people
away from their home county and their
work is valued.
The international reunion has something
for everyone young and not so young. We
look forward to welcoming you all to

Wed 1 st August 2012
The official launch of Roscommon
International Reunion
Castlerea 8:00 p.m.
The official launch of Roscommon International Reunion
will take place in Castlerea in association with Castlerea
Rose Festival Committee. The Grand Opening parade is not
to be missed. Two selected delegates from each association
will be invited to watch the parade from the official viewing
stand. This will be followed by a reception in Tully’s Hotel.

Launch of Roscommon Life
County Library Headquarters
Roscommon 7:00 p.m.
Roscommon Life will be launched in County Roscommon
Library Headquarters. This will be the 31st edition of the
Annual originally known as The Roscommon Association
Yearbook. It should be of particular interest to overseas
visitors to the International Reunion as it records the
activities of Roscommon Associations and Societies at
home in Britain and the United States.

Reunion Expo King House
Boyle 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.
An expo of historical, heritage and genealogical resources
relating to the County will be held in King House. The expo
will include promotion of the County Roscommon Heritage
and Genealogy Company and the online genealogical
research services.

Rose of Castlerea Selection Night
The Stagger Inn
Castlerea, 9:30 p.m.
Spend an evening at the Rose selection night. Reserved
seating will be available for Roscommon Association
members if required.
Tuesday 7 th August 2012
Forum for Officers of the
Roscommon Association
& Castlecoote House tour
Castlecoote 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
A forum for officers of all the Roscommon Associations will
be held at Castlecoote House to discuss upcoming events
such as The Gathering 2013, Connect Ireland, RE:CONNECT
and future links.
Visitors will be brought on a tour of the house which will
include a recital by Harpist, Teresa O’Donnell and lunch.

Roscommon GAA Race Day
Roscommon Race Course 5:00 p.m.
This is a great opportunity to enjoy the Roscommon Races
in the company of Roscommon supporters and players.
Music and snacks will be provided, bar facilities will also be
available in a private function room.

This is the highlight of Roscommon International Reunion.
It will be an opportunity to network with all International
Reunion association members. Music will be provided by
Brendan Shine and his band. “Not to be missed!”

Percy French Remembered
Roscommon Arts Centre 8:00 p.m.
A special Percy French night will take place in Roscommon
Arts Centre, where the Percy French Quartet from County
Down will perform various songs and poems from the well
known and loved songwriter Percy French.
As regular visitors to County Roscommon and recognised
for their beautiful harmony and renditions, the quartet
includes a baritone, banjo and a piano player.

Ecumenical service and farewell
lunch Portahard Church
Frenchpark, 11:00 a.m.
An Ecumenical service will take place at Dr Douglas Hyde
Interpretative Centre. Birth place of the first President of Ireland.
We will remember past members of the association who are
no longer with us. The service provides an opportunity for a
final farewell to all of our visitors. Lunch will follow the service.
