Rotary International Convention 2006 in Malmö / Copenhagen

Competition
In order to stimulate Nordic rotarians to register for Convention 2006 Nordic
Promotion is introducing a competition between the districts. The district in each
country that will have most members registered will be awarded a prize. However
the two host districts 1470 and 2390 will not participate in the competition as
these districts are expected to have the highest number of registered members
among all the 29 Nordic districts.
The winning district in each country will be the one reaching the highest
percentage of registration based on its total number of members.
Deadline: March 1 st , 2006.
1 st prize. 300 free tickets for Tivoli Night or Swedish Night. Tickets can be
distributed within the district.
2 nd prize. 200 free tickets for Tivoli Night or Swedish Night. Tickets can be
distributed within the district.
3 rd prize. 100 free tickets for Tivoli Night or Swedish Night. Tickets can be
distributed within the district.
For Island, having just one district the number of registered members as well as
total number of members will be included in and co-ordinated with the Danish
district 1450.
Do you want to register for the Rotary International Convention in Malmö-
Copenhagen June 11 – 14 2006?
The registration for the Convention 2006 will be done on Rotary International’s
homepage, based in Evanston, USA. This means that the registration for the
Convention as such is being controlled centrally from the USA. On-line
registration, downloading of registration forms and additional information can be

If you want to book a hotel room this can be done at those hotels having special
agreements with Rotary International. You can book on line or download a

Do you want to register for different Host-Ticketed-Events?
Each Convention consists of different arrangements and events that groups
within Host Organization Committee (HOC) have planned for all visiting Rotarians
and their partners. The list of all planned activities is long. You cannot register for
these Host-Ticketed-Events without first having registered for the Convention as
such and you have to use the registration number received when registering for
the Convention.
The registration for the Convention 2006 must be done before you can register
for any other programme. On the HOC home page you can read about all the
different events and arrangements and register on-line or download a form that
you can fill in and send by fax.

Host Hospitality Night – register yourself or your club.
Monday June 12 th Host Hospitality Night” will be arranged all over Sjælland, Fyn
and Skåne by the different Rotary Clubs. It is up to each club how to plan this
evening. For instance the club members can invite 8 – 10 guests for dinner in
their private homes for a nice evening together. As an alternative the club can
invite 40-60 guests to a meeting in the club that evening with a programme
suitable for the foreign guests. Several clubs can join and invite 100-300 guests
to a theatre, concert or other kinds of entertainment.
The clubs will take care of the transportation from Malmö and Copenhagen and
offer food and entertainment to the guests.
No doubt Host Hospitality Night is one of the most popular arrangements and
through the years it has brought many wonderful memories and experiences.
About 5000 visiting Rotarians are expected to participate in Host Hospitality
Night. Registration is handled through the clubs. Read more at:

Home Stay
Home Stay is an invitation to all foreign guests to come and stay with a European
family either before or after the Convention. The guests have to register through
the normal registration channels for events or tours.
Those who are interested to be a Home Stay host however have to announce
this at the HOC homepage, where also more details about this programme can
