<strong>SUMMER</strong> CAMPS<br />

Because of the importance the District places on the diversity<br />

of summer programming, we are able to draw from vast<br />

resources. A sample of what may be provided includes:<br />

GAMES/SPORTS: Basketball, football, soccer, water play,<br />

horseshoes, volleyball, T-Ball, parachute, caroms, tennis,<br />

tag, board games, <strong>and</strong> much more!<br />

THEME WEEKS: Each week, the camp will feature special<br />

events, sports <strong>and</strong> activities relating to a weekly theme.<br />

Activities may include: science, nature crafts, unique crafts,<br />

plus sports, games <strong>and</strong> drama experience.<br />

Supervision begins at 6:45 am <strong>and</strong> ends at<br />

certifications in First Aid <strong>and</strong> CPR. They have<br />

diverse areas of expertise <strong>and</strong> are caring,<br />

enthusiastic <strong>and</strong> energetic.<br />

The following fees are based on cost per week, Monday<br />

through Friday, starting June 17, 2013. Registrations are due<br />

the Wednesday prior to the week’s attendance. Must be paid<br />

at the Oak Park Community Center.<br />

With over 7 years of experience working with<br />

children 3-5 years old, I am looking forward to<br />

the Little Dreamers Camp this summer! We will<br />

have fun learning, songs, doing crafts, playing<br />

games, <strong>and</strong> going on adventures together. I am<br />

excited to meet all of the children <strong>and</strong> making<br />

new friends!<br />

DISCOUNT: Families registering more than one child<br />

for a week may take a $5 discount for each<br />

PAYMENT INFORMATION<br />

Initially, for any of the Summer Camps, you will need to submit<br />

(in person) your registration forms <strong>and</strong> payment (cash,<br />

check, Visa, or MasterCard) at the Oak Park Community<br />

Center, 1000 N. Kanan Rd., Oak Park. Make all checks payable<br />

to <strong>Rancho</strong> <strong>Simi</strong> <strong>Recreation</strong> <strong>and</strong> Park District<br />

(R.S.R.P.D.). Registration forms <strong>and</strong> payments will not be<br />

accepted at any of the Club or Camp sites. Returned checks<br />

create an additional burden on programs. If, for ANY reason,<br />

a check is returned to the District, a $20 service charge will<br />

be levied <strong>and</strong> a “cash only” status will be in effect for a period<br />

of one year. We rely on the District Attorney for recovery<br />

<strong>and</strong> prosecution. <strong>Rancho</strong> <strong>Simi</strong> <strong>Recreation</strong> <strong>and</strong> Park District<br />

offers one method for you to make all future payments.<br />

Auto deductions are made by RSRPD from your credit or<br />

debit card.<br />

DISCOUNTS: Families registering more than one child for a<br />

week may take a $15 discount for each additional child.<br />

LATE REGISTRATION: Registration forms received after<br />

12:00 pm the Wednesday before the week of attendance will<br />

only be accepted if adequate staffing ratios can be maintained.<br />

FIELD TRIPS<br />

Weekly trips are available at an additional fee. Field trips<br />

have varying registration deadlines; attendance is limited<br />

<strong>and</strong> is on a first-come, first serve basis. SIGN UP EARLY!<br />

Only campers registered for the week of camp will be<br />

allowed to attend that week’s trip. Field trip locations<br />

<strong>and</strong> fees are subject to change/cancellation without<br />

prior notice. See field trip form in registration packet.<br />

Transportation provided by licensed companies.<br />

REGISTER BEFORE<br />

MAY 10 & SAVE $30<br />

A $30 registration fee will be waived for persons registering<br />

on or before 5:00 pm, May 10, 2013. A summer<br />

registration fee of $30 per child (non-refundable) will be<br />

charged after May 10, 2013. Fee includes one T-shirt.<br />

Additional shirts: $8.00 each. Registration forms <strong>and</strong><br />

weekly fees must be submitted to the Oak Park Community<br />

Center at 1000 N. Kanan Rd., Oak Park.<br />

<strong>SUMMER</strong> CAMPS 2013<br />

RELATED INFORMATION<br />

All completed paperwork <strong>and</strong> fees must be submitted to the<br />

Oak Park Community Center. Registrations are due NO<br />

LATER THAN 12:00 pm the Wednesday prior to the next<br />

week of attendance. However, registration is on a first come,<br />

first serve basis.<br />

1. NO REFUNDS, TRANSFERS, DISCOUNTS, OR PRO-<br />

RATIONS.<br />

2. The last day of camp is August 23. After School Clubs<br />

begin Wednesday, August 28, 2013.<br />

3. Children may be signed in any time after 6:45 am but<br />

must be signed out no later than 6:00 pm.<br />

4. Children must bring a sack lunch (NO LUNCH PAILS<br />

ON FIELD TRIPS), everyday unless otherwise indicateded.<br />

Please write child’s name on the lunch! Daily<br />

snacks will also be provided.<br />

5. Please apply sun block or sun screen to your child<br />

every day before coming to camp. Counselors are not<br />

permitted to apply sunscreen to children.<br />

6. It is MANDATORY for all children to wear a RSRPD<br />

Camp T-shirt for all field trips. Enclosed shoes are required<br />

daily. No s<strong>and</strong>als.<br />

7. Parents are responsible for transportation to <strong>and</strong> from<br />

camp sites. Children may only be signed out by an<br />

authorized parent/guardian, as indicated on the registration<br />

form, or by special arrangement.<br />

8. A $10.00 fee per 15 minutes or portion thereof will<br />

be assessed for late pick-ups after 6:00pm.<br />

9. Children who have not been picked up by 6:30 pm<br />

may be released into the custody of Ventura<br />

County Sheriff’s Department.<br />

10. Children will be placed in small groups based on a combination<br />

of age <strong>and</strong> maturity.<br />

11. All events, activities, trips, <strong>and</strong> policies are subject to<br />

change without notice.<br />

12. Children not attending field trips will remain at the Camp<br />

site under the supervision of counselors. Field trip<br />

attendance is limited.<br />

13. Money <strong>and</strong> valuables (radios, games, etc.) should not<br />

be brought to camp. There are no lockers or checking<br />

facilities.<br />

14. Suspension/Dismissal From Camp—For the protection<br />

<strong>and</strong> harmony of all campers, we have established<br />

certain safety <strong>and</strong> disciplinary rules, which all children<br />

are required to follow. If a child violates any of these<br />

rules, such conduct can lead to the child’s suspension<br />

or dismissal from camp.<br />

15. Illness Policy—Ill children will not be accepted into<br />

camp. If a child becomes ill during the camp, parents or<br />

authorized persons will be contacted to pick up the<br />

child. Children cannot attend the camps if the following<br />

occur:<br />

▪ A fever over 100 degrees<br />

▪ Diarrhea/Vomitting, with or without fever<br />

▪ Unexplained rash with or without fever<br />

▪ Unexplained discharge from eyes, ears, nose, mouth<br />

or skin. There will be no refunds or transfers due to<br />

illness except after five (5) consecutive days <strong>and</strong> the<br />

child must have a physician’s release.<br />

16. THIRD PARTY (SPLIT) PAYMENTS: The District<br />

will offer the convenience of the third par ty/split<br />

payment option wherein one person pays a portion<br />

of a child’s account <strong>and</strong> another person pays the<br />

remaining balance. Payments are required to be<br />

paid through our auto pay system.<br />

17. Medication Policy—<strong>Rancho</strong> <strong>Simi</strong> <strong>Recreation</strong><br />

<strong>and</strong> Park District requires a signed permission<br />

slip authorizing the staff to administer medication<br />

(prescription or over-the-counter). Medicines must<br />

be accompanied by a doctor’s note <strong>and</strong> signature.<br />

All medication must be in the original container or<br />

prescription bottle. All instructions for administering<br />

medication must be on the label.<br />

18. Accidents <strong>and</strong> Injuries—If a child becomes<br />

hurt during camp, appropriate first aid will be<br />

applied. Parents will be notified of all injuries<br />

by phone <strong>and</strong> or in writing. For accidents or<br />

injuries that require immediate medical attention,<br />

911 will be called <strong>and</strong> parent/emergency<br />

contacts will be called as soon as possible.<br />

Please sign <strong>and</strong> return the medical emergency<br />

release form included in your child’s registration<br />

packet. The program will always have a trained first<br />

aid <strong>and</strong> CPR certified staff member on the premises.<br />
