SUMMER CAMPS
Because of the importance the District places on the diversity
of summer programming, we are able to draw from vast
resources. A sample of what may be provided includes:
GAMES/SPORTS: Basketball, football, soccer, water play,
horseshoes, volleyball, T-Ball, parachute, caroms, tennis,
tag, board games, and much more!
THEME WEEKS: Each week, the camp will feature special
events, sports and activities relating to a weekly theme.
Activities may include: science, nature crafts, unique crafts,
plus sports, games and drama experience.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Boys and girls entering kindergarten
through sixth grade as of September, 2013.
(child must be 5 years old by June 1st).
Ten (10) one-week sessions beginning June
17, 2013 through August 23, 2013. No Camp
July 4.
Supervision begins at 6:45 am and ends at
6:00 pm. Planned programming starts at 9:00
am and will run until 5:00 pm.

Day camp staff have been carefully chosen
and trained by professional staff including
certifications in First Aid and CPR. They have
diverse areas of expertise and are caring,
enthusiastic and energetic.
DISCOUNT: Families registering more than one child
for a week may take a $15 discount for each
additional child.

All field trips are optional, children can choose to
participate in a trip to the local pool, Beach or any
of the above listed trips for an additional fee. Registration
packets include pricing information.

WEEKLY FEES AND CHARGES
The following fees are based on cost per week, Monday
through Friday, starting June 17, 2013. Registrations are due
the Wednesday prior to the week’s attendance. Must be paid
at the Oak Park Community Center.

STAFF: Katie Shepley is the Camp Director.
With over 7 years of experience working with
children 3-5 years old, I am looking forward to
the Little Dreamers Camp this summer! We will
have fun learning, songs, doing crafts, playing
games, and going on adventures together. I am
excited to meet all of the children and making
new friends!

PAYMENT INFORMATION
Initially, for any of the Summer Camps, you will need to submit
(in person) your registration forms and payment (cash,
check, Visa, or MasterCard) at the Oak Park Community
Center, 1000 N. Kanan Rd., Oak Park. Make all checks payable
to Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District
(R.S.R.P.D.). Registration forms and payments will not be
accepted at any of the Club or Camp sites. Returned checks
create an additional burden on programs. If, for ANY reason,
a check is returned to the District, a $20 service charge will
be levied and a “cash only” status will be in effect for a period
of one year. We rely on the District Attorney for recovery
and prosecution. Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District
offers one method for you to make all future payments.
Auto deductions are made by RSRPD from your credit or
debit card.

LATE REGISTRATION: Registration forms received after
12:00 pm the Wednesday before the week of attendance will
only be accepted if adequate staffing ratios can be maintained.
FIELD TRIPS
Weekly trips are available at an additional fee. Field trips
have varying registration deadlines; attendance is limited
and is on a first-come, first serve basis. SIGN UP EARLY!
Only campers registered for the week of camp will be
allowed to attend that week’s trip. Field trip locations
and fees are subject to change/cancellation without
prior notice. See field trip form in registration packet.
Transportation provided by licensed companies.
REGISTER BEFORE
MAY 10 & SAVE $30
A $30 registration fee will be waived for persons registering
on or before 5:00 pm, May 10, 2013. A summer
registration fee of $30 per child (non-refundable) will be
charged after May 10, 2013. Fee includes one T-shirt.
Additional shirts: $8.00 each. Registration forms and
weekly fees must be submitted to the Oak Park Community
Center at 1000 N. Kanan Rd., Oak Park.

RELATED INFORMATION
All completed paperwork and fees must be submitted to the
Oak Park Community Center. Registrations are due NO
LATER THAN 12:00 pm the Wednesday prior to the next
week of attendance. However, registration is on a first come,
first serve basis.
1. NO REFUNDS, TRANSFERS, DISCOUNTS, OR PRO-
RATIONS.
2. The last day of camp is August 23. After School Clubs
begin Wednesday, August 28, 2013.
3. Children may be signed in any time after 6:45 am but
must be signed out no later than 6:00 pm.
4. Children must bring a sack lunch (NO LUNCH PAILS
ON FIELD TRIPS), everyday unless otherwise indicateded.
Please write child’s name on the lunch! Daily
snacks will also be provided.
5. Please apply sun block or sun screen to your child
every day before coming to camp. Counselors are not
permitted to apply sunscreen to children.
6. It is MANDATORY for all children to wear a RSRPD
Camp T-shirt for all field trips. Enclosed shoes are required
daily. No sandals.
7. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from
camp sites. Children may only be signed out by an
authorized parent/guardian, as indicated on the registration
form, or by special arrangement.
8. A $10.00 fee per 15 minutes or portion thereof will
be assessed for late pick-ups after 6:00pm.
9. Children who have not been picked up by 6:30 pm
may be released into the custody of Ventura
County Sheriff’s Department.
10. Children will be placed in small groups based on a combination
of age and maturity.
11. All events, activities, trips, and policies are subject to
change without notice.
12. Children not attending field trips will remain at the Camp
site under the supervision of counselors. Field trip
attendance is limited.
13. Money and valuables (radios, games, etc.) should not
be brought to camp. There are no lockers or checking
facilities.
14. Suspension/Dismissal From Camp—For the protection
and harmony of all campers, we have established
certain safety and disciplinary rules, which all children
are required to follow. If a child violates any of these
rules, such conduct can lead to the child’s suspension
or dismissal from camp.
15. Illness Policy—Ill children will not be accepted into
camp. If a child becomes ill during the camp, parents or
authorized persons will be contacted to pick up the
child. Children cannot attend the camps if the following
occur:
▪ A fever over 100 degrees
▪ Diarrhea/Vomitting, with or without fever
▪ Unexplained rash with or without fever
▪ Unexplained discharge from eyes, ears, nose, mouth
or skin. There will be no refunds or transfers due to
illness except after five (5) consecutive days and the
child must have a physician’s release.
16. THIRD PARTY (SPLIT) PAYMENTS: The District
will offer the convenience of the third par ty/split
payment option wherein one person pays a portion
of a child’s account and another person pays the
remaining balance. Payments are required to be
paid through our auto pay system.
17. Medication Policy—Rancho Simi Recreation
and Park District requires a signed permission
slip authorizing the staff to administer medication
(prescription or over-the-counter). Medicines must
be accompanied by a doctor’s note and signature.
All medication must be in the original container or
prescription bottle. All instructions for administering
medication must be on the label.
18. Accidents and Injuries—If a child becomes
hurt during camp, appropriate first aid will be
applied. Parents will be notified of all injuries
by phone and or in writing. For accidents or
injuries that require immediate medical attention,
911 will be called and parent/emergency
contacts will be called as soon as possible.
Please sign and return the medical emergency
release form included in your child’s registration
packet. The program will always have a trained first
aid and CPR certified staff member on the premises.
