The UV-Setter line-up
NEW
Plate variety for greater
independence
The UV-Setters operate in the 360–450 nm
wavelength range. As a result you can
choose from practically the entire range
of UV-sensitive offset printing plates,
moreover you can continue working
with your current set of printing
plates. A further advantage:
UV printing plates are
widely available from
all suppliers.
With DSI² the UV-Setter
is really fast
Thanks to DSI² (Digital Screen
Imaging), the exposure heads
move continuously during the exposure over
the printing plate. This “scrolling” technology
prevents exposure breaks (to move the
head) and ensures a very short exposure
time for your printing plate.
Series 6
Big value for the 4 up market
The UV-Setter Series 5 is designed to handle plates up to 940 mm
(37“) wide – making it a perfect choice for commercial, packaging
and book printing applications.
Full automation for the 6-up market
The UV-Setters Series 646 has been designed especially to allow
full automation for the high volume printing market like books
and magazines.
BINE YOUR EXPERTISE IN PLATE PROPERTIES, CHEMISTRY AND PROCESS STABILITY WITH BASYSPRINT’S CTP TECHNOLOGY. THE EXTREMELY STRAIGHTFORWARD OPERATION OF THE EXPOSURE UNIT AND ITS OUTSTANDING PROCESSING QUALITY HAVE WON IT A WORLDWIDE REPUTATION.SERIES 7 UV-SETTERS ARE DESIGNED TO EXPOSE 8 PAGES (UP TO FORMAT CLASS 4) AND CAN BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL, PACKAGING AND BOOK PRINTING ALIKE. THEY EXPOSE ALL PLATE FORMATS UP TO A MAXIMUM OF 940 X 1150 MM. PUTTING THE TECHNIQUE TO TEST WE SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN THE IMAGING RESULTS ACHIEVED BY VARIOUS PLATESETTERS: THE UV-SETTER’S SQUARE PIXELS ARE APPARENT BOTH ON THE CHECKERBOARD AND THE FM SCREEN THROUGH THEIR CLEAR LINES. OTHER PLATESETTERS – IN THIS CASE THERMAL AND BLUE-VIOLET MODELS – REVEAL WASHOUT DUE TO THE HARD-TO-CONTROL DOT GROWTH. THIS, IN TURN, LEADS TO LOSS OF QUALITY IN THE FINAL PRINTING RESULTS. BRING OUT THE BEST IN YOUR UV-SENSITIVE PRINTING PLATES: THE UV-SETTER CUTS THE COST OF CTP: CTP IS ACCLAIMED BECAUSE IT ELIMINATES NUMEROUS WORK STAGES – FILM EXPOSURE, MAKE-UP AND PLATEMAKING – AND THUS THE ASSOCIATED COSTS. WITH A LASER-BASED PROCESS, HOWEVER, THE GENERAL FINANCIAL BENEFITS ARE QUICKLY LOST DUE TO THE HIGHER MATERIAL COSTS (PRINTING PLATE, CHEMICALS AND DISPOSAL). THE BASYSPRINT TECHNOLOGY OVERCOMES THIS PROBLEM: YOU CONTINUE USING Y
The UV-Setter
cuts the cost of CTP
With the basysPrint technology, you can
continue using your inexpensive UV printing
plates, your existing processor and
chemistries – keeping your disposal costs
low. After all, they process absolutely
identical plates. Normally
this is your well understood
and currently used
printing plate.
Easy integration
with 1-bit TIFF
Every UV-Setter can be integrated into
existing workflows. Continue using your
tried and tested UV-sensitive printing
plate – no need to experiment with new
plates. In addition, every RIP system
exports 1-bit-TIFFs ready for exposure,
so the UV-Setter can be
integrated into any prepress environment.
Flexibility of
a flatbed system
The flatbed system of the UV-Setter permits
exposure of a wide variety of plate
sizes. When using smaller formats, it is
possible to image several plates simultaneously.
Another advantage of the flatbed
system is the capability to replace the
pin bar in order to use different register
systems. Upon request, the flatbed can
also be fitted with register pins or 3-pin
plate alignment.
