Senior Manager at General Motors Proving Grounds in Brazil<br />
The presentation will show the specific needs of emerging<br />
markets with regards to automotive development, its<br />
relation to the global engineering process, and what challenges<br />
need to be overcome in order to deliver a product<br />
for the different emerging markets countries that meets<br />
specific customer expectations without compromising<br />
quality and budget.<br />
Nuñes is a senior manager at General Motors South America, responsible for<br />
Noise and Vibration, Vehicle Dynamics, Human Factors, Energy and Vehicle Safety.<br />
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics and a master’s degree in Mechanical<br />
Engineering/Acoustics.<br />
He has worked for 19 years in the automotive industry, 17 years of which has been<br />
dedicated to vehicle Noise & Vibration. In the last 10 years, Nuñes was responsible<br />
for over 20 vehicle NVH projects for emerging market countries, including South<br />
America, South Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia. In addition to performing many<br />
vehicle ride events in those regions, he lived three years in China, supporting GM<br />
vehicle development and the construction of a fully capable Noise and Vibration<br />
Lab.<br />
This professional experience has provided Nuñes with ample opportunity to learn<br />
about vehicle interior noise and balance under the light of different customer<br />
expectations, driving habits and road conditions.<br />
