Anointing of the Sick after the 4:30 p.m.

The Sacrament of the Sick is a sacrament of spiritual
strength and comfort. Often we find it is the least
understood Sacrament of the church. In the past it has been
known as “The Last Rites, Sacrament of the Dying and even
Extreme Unction.” the reason why this Sacrament took on
such meanings is because often in the past people would
wait until the last hours or even minutes before person died
to receive the Sacrament. The thought was that the dying
person would then go immediately to heaven. It was also
believed that the Sacrament could only be received ONCE in
a lifetime and most people waited until the very last
moments of life. This is no longer so.
The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick can and should
be received more than once, especially as conditions change
in our lives. We should NOT wait until death is close at hand.
It is meant as a Sacrament of the living to help strengthen
our journey in life when we encounter physical or mental
illness, an approaching surgery, and even extreme stress
and high blood pressure in our lives.
A special opportunity to receive this Sacrament will be
celebrated AFTER the 4:30 p.m. Mass Saturday, May 4th, at
St. Mary Church.

board, and especially our clients are very grateful for those
who prepared, delivered and served the meals, and for those

by such dedicated volunteers that our mission of sheltering

BINGO at St. Nicholas Freedom
St. Nicholas in Freedom is playing BINGO on Saturday,
May 4 following their 4 p.m. Saturday Mass. Bingo card
sales will begin at 5 p.m. with play starting at 5:45 p.m. In
addition to beverages and snacks, St. Nicholas’
homemade pizza will also be for sale to enjoy while you
play. Children are invited to participate as well with a

Faith & Life Issues for High School Students!
Monday, May 6th will be the last Teen Disciples at Mount
Tabor Center, Menasha for this school year. Join other area
high school students for a year-end celebration of Teen
Disciples. Great opportunity before summer to share your
faith with other Catholic teens through discussion,
praise music, fun activities, prayer and snack. Come and say
good-bye to the members of this year's SPIRITUS team from

INSPIRE! Young Adult Catholics!

Janssen Forum
On Thursday, May 9th, SPIRITUS team members will
conclude the 2012-2013 Janssen Forum at Mount Tabor
Center, in Menasha. SPIRITUS is a team of faith-filled young
men and women inspiring our Catholic youth from
elementary through high school to live their faith and grow
closer to God. Come and join this dynamic group as they
share their uplifting spirit and their love of our Lord.

concluding with 8:30 a.m. mass.

A Dynamic Parish Youth Mission is coming!
Help your kids and teens to follow Jesus and His Church with
a week of inspiring talks, skits, sacraments and prayer! Totus
Tuus, a Latin phrase which means "Totally Yours" signifies
our desire to give ourselves entirely to Jesus through
Mary. Totus Tuus is in over 33 dioceses around the
country! This exciting experience is open to students finishing
grades 1-12. Students who attended last year reported it
being one of their favorite weeks of the summer! The Office
of Vocations for the Diocese of Green Bay, Mount Tabor
