ANIMAL SHELTER ADOPTIONS Matilda Jane, aka Tillie, was adopted and brought home on April 3, 2009. She is a very beautiful tortoiseshell kitty with lots of energy and lots of play in her. Everything is a toy for her in her eyes, and I haven’t changed her mind much on that belief. I laid her down beside me on her first night in her new home only to awaken shortly to find her sleeping quietly with her head nestled on the pillow right beside me. I thought that was awfully cute, but the next time I woke up she was sleeping from one end of the pillow to the other leaving me with only a corner for my head. It’s her house! It took me several visits to the shelter to decide which one to take home with me, but I couldn’t have chosen more perfectly. She’s sweet and fun and loving and certainly mended my broken heart. Troy Dear Ms. Base & Shelter Staff: It is my pleasure to inform you all that Lydia, who will turn four months old this month, was a perfect pick for my home. She has made great friends with Leonard, the year-old Golden Retriever, and my two cats, Marjorie Pat who is ancient and Little Bits who loves to play games with both dogs. Lydia and Leonard are inseparable. They love riding in the car and especially enjoy running together in the country. Lydia may be smaller than Lenny, for right now, but holds her own with him when they wrestle and romp in the living room and back yard. They join with one another in getting into trouble, eat at the same times in the kitchen and sleep together beside my bed – sometimes on the bed. Although Lydia is extraordinarily smart (and cute) she is stubborn and certainly has a mind of her own. She minds when she so decides, and she chews anything that catches her eye and looks intriguing. (Sometimes she even chews on the multitude of toys and bones available to her). After the destruction of several pairs of shoes, plastic bowls, plastic bags full of clothes, carpet, numerous throw rugs, napkins and napkin rings and newspapers and magazines, I considered super gluing her lips together, but then thought better of it. Instead I attempt to remember what not to leave in her path. Thank you for finding her and making her available to me.
