Grant Forest Products’ announcement<br />
in 2005 of plans to invest $260 million in a<br />
new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility<br />
came as great news to this county, which<br />
at the time had an unemployment rate of<br />
12 percent and an average annual wage of<br />
about $9 per hour.<br />
