THERAPEUTIC DISCHARGE (TD)<br />

The following behaviors may result in immediate therapeutic discharge:<br />

1. Use or possession of any mood-altering chemical. Also, individuals having knowledge that<br />

another individual is using, selling, or is in possession of mood altering chemicals without<br />

reporting it to staff.<br />

2. Use of unauthorized medication.<br />

3. Violence or threats of violence toward any staff member, resident or visitor.<br />

4. Physical involvements or sexual activity of any kind, either with another patient or visitors.<br />

5. Smoking in any place other than the smoking area.<br />

6. Breach of confidentiality.<br />

7. Residents under influences will not be permitted on <strong>Seabrook</strong> West property.<br />

8. Police will be called for any illegal activity at <strong>Seabrook</strong> West.<br />

MEDICAL CARE<br />

• All medications must be given to the Operations Manager upon admission. Staff members have<br />

the right to inspect the resident’s/visitor’s car, luggage, person, personal belongings and rooms at<br />

any time for any reason.<br />

• Medications can be self-administered following completion of first month, if approved by staff.<br />

• It is very important the community stay focused on recovery by remaining present, both physically<br />

and mentally, during all community or scheduled activity.<br />

• All medical emergencies will be addressed immediately by calling 9-1-1. If 9-1-1 is called by a<br />

resident, staff must be notified immediately.<br />

• There are behavioral health, medical, psychiatric and mental health practitioners in the area.<br />

<strong>Seabrook</strong> West will have a list of these practitioners and doctors available. Your Primary<br />

Counselor may suggest that you see a physician or practitioner during your stay.<br />
