Past, present and future of rheumatology
A review of diagnosis and treatment, particularly with biologics
This is an MSD symposium

MSD invites you to
Past, present and future of rheumatology
Advances in technology and the
introduction of biologics have revolutionised
the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic
diseases, but are we losing our focus on
the individual patient? This symposium will
evaluate past approaches to diagnosis
and treatment and explore potential new
strategies that could enhance patient care
and optimise outcomes.
The opening session will revisit the
foundations of rheumatology clinical
practice and the origins of diagnosis
and treatment. We will then move on
to discuss current challenges and
controversies, such as timing of treatment
initiation and the most appropriate
measures of clinical success.
Finally we will look to the future to
investigate new treatments and regimens
that could improve patient outcomes.
How can we ensure that we provide the
maximum value for patients?
Please join us for what promises to be an informative and interactive discussion
surrounding the evolution of treatment, particularly biologics, in rheumatic diseases.
