Materials
All of our luminaires are made of top quality materials that can withstand
standard mechanical loads and are resistant to corrosion.
UL Electrical safety
Selux luminaires are manufactured in accordance with the regulatory bodies tested
under. Luminaires are UL/CSA listed to meet applicable listing standards. They meet
one or more of the following standards UL1598, UL8750, CSA22.2, and others
depending on listing type. All luminaires are tested in a third party accredited
testing facility to ensure compliance.
Operating conditions
All luminaires are designed for operation at 120V/277V - 60Hz and at higher
ambient temperature. Other voltages and frequencies are available.
Windage area Aw
Poles and luminaires are subject to load and strain due to wind pressure. The
rated load for light poles are calculated according to AASHTO standards.
Light distribution curves and isolux curves
If you go to our website you will find product data sheets for each luminaire. Data
sheets include light distribution curves plus data regarding illuminance distribution
in absolute values for luminaires equipped with standard light sources and mounted
on standard poles. These curves give you a quick overview of the photometric data
of any given luminaire. Light distribution curves are also available for downloading
in IES format. All photometric data is based on measurements obtained from
certified independent testing labs following IESNA testing standards.
Surge Protection
Selux Exterior LED luminaires come equipped with an additional surge protection
device standard. This device protects the luminaires electrical system from indirect
lightning strikes or surges in voltage up to 10kV.
Thermal Foldback Protection
Many Selux exterior LED luminaires are equipped with this control to slightly dial
back system power for protection of LEDs during extreme over temperature
conditions.
IDA-Approved Dark Sky Friendly luminaires
Many of our luminaires meet the requirements of the International Dark Sky
Association and are thereby classified as “having no light at or above 90 o from
Nadir”.
