CAPITAL CONSTRUCTION – FEDERAL STIMULUS PROJECTS<br />
Principal Responsibilities<br />
Goals<br />
Manages the engineering and construction of capital projects for fixed plant facilities funded<br />
under the Federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. Projects<br />
include improvements to SEPTA’s track, rights of way, grade crossings and yards;<br />
communications and signals systems; stations and parking lots; maintenance facilities; and<br />
fare collection equipment.<br />
Award construction contracts for Gwynedd Cut Stabilization, North Wales Station<br />
Reconstruction, Philmont Station Rehabilitation, Tulpehocken Station Improvements,<br />
Chestnut Hill East Station Improvements, Chestnut Hill West Station Retaining Wall,<br />
Langhorne Station Building Replacement and the rehabilitation of Morton, Folcroft and<br />
Clifton-Aldan Stations.<br />
Achieve substantial completion for Rehabilitation of Bridges 8.38, 13.04 and 18.87,<br />
Replacement of Bridge 20.25, Fox Chase Station Construction; 69th St. Terminal Restroom<br />
Renovations, North Wales Station Reconstruction and Philmont Station Rehabilitation.<br />
Business Initiatives<br />
• Improve Customer Travel Environment<br />
‣ Reconstruct and renovate station facilities including North Wales Station, Philmont<br />
Station, Tulpehocken Station, Langhorne Station, Morton Station, Folcroft Station and<br />
Clifton-Aldan Station.<br />
‣ Renovate 69th St. Terminal Restrooms.<br />
‣ Stabilization of Gwynedd Cut on the Lansdale Line.<br />

Principal Responsibilities<br />
Manages the engineering and construction of capital projects for fixed plant facilities,<br />
including improvements to stations, track, signals, bridges and parking facilities for railroad<br />
operations.<br />
