1940 Hudson Group Parts Book Six and Eight

INTRODUCTION
This book contains a list of chassis and body service replacement parts supplied by the Hudson Motor
Car Company, for 1940 Hudson passenger and business cars.
In addition, this book covers several units, such as Electric Auto-Lite equipment, not supplied by the
Hudson Motor Car Company. These parts appear under the symbols of their respective manufacturers, and are
included as an aid in ordering direct from these manufacturers or their authorized service outlets.
To assist in the identification of parts, a number of illustrations are included, which in most cases
are placed near the start of the groups to which they refer. Each part shown on these illustrations is
provided with a key number which refers to the description of that part in a manner explained in the following
sections.
GROUP SYSTEM
In order to classify parts, the chassis is divided into nineteen main groups, each group being designated
by a letter. An extra section, devoted to fuel pumps and electrical units not serviced by Hudson Motor Car
Company, is designated by the letter Z.

These main groups are arranged in this book in alphabetical order. At the top corner of each page
appears a letter which designates the main group to which the parts on that page belong, while directly
across the page appears the name of that group. See further explanation of the Group System on the following
pages.
