Previous responsive space conferences have focused on the
technology and processes to create Responsive Space. The
2007 Responsive Space Conference will continue to cover this
broad spectrum of topics, but will also focus attention on three
key issues:
• Applications — What are the needs of the war-fighter
and civilian users and how can these needs be met?
• Implementation — How do we create demonstration
missions and then transition these into an ongoing,
robust program of low-cost, responsive missions?
• Funding — What is the current funding status for all
of the elements of Responsive Space and how do we
create Responsive Funding?
Receptions
A reception will be held Monday evening from
5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the conference hotel. Come and meet
the other participants and bring your spouse. A reception will
also be held on Tuesday, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. After the
reception, if you want to have dinner with old or new colleagues,
there are plenty of restaurants nearby. There is an
additional reception before the conference dinner.

News and Views
Things are movings rapidly in the Responsive Space world
with potential funding in Congress and the recent Chinese
ASAT test. Thus, we’d like to make RS5 more, well, responsive.
To accommodate the very latest updates in Responsive
Space, we’ve introduced a PS Session during the Tuesday
evening reception to provide a late opportunity for papers,
notices, or discussion of topics of interest to Responsive
Space. If you have a late breaking paper or a technical or
programmatic issue that falls out side the realm of regular
paper presentations, and would like to have the opportunity
to discuss it at the conference, please get in touch with us at
abstracts@responsivespace.com. We will accept submittals
until 10 days before the conference. No advertising please.
And, come to the Tuesday reception to hear the very latest
developments in Responsive Space.
NASA/JPL Town Hall Meeting
NASA’s Town Hall Meeting will follow RS5 with a reception
and dinner followed by a panel discussion on “Space Science
and Human Exploration: Opportunities for Collaboration.”
