Welcome to the 11th Edition of the Toronto International Art Fair. Last year we
celebrated the milestone of 10 years at Art Toronto; this year we wish
to showcase the extensive and deep well of expertise that members of the
Art Dealers Association of Canada have to offer.
Art fairs provide a unique opportunity for collectors to engage with galleries
and dealers representing a wide array of styles and media. Whether from the
historical perspective or explanations of the new media, our member dealers offer
collectors the chance to experience and benefit from the knowledge and expertise
a relationship with a dealer offers. As the market changes, galleries and artists
are sometimes lost in the hype of the auctions and their behemoth marketing
campaigns. Art Toronto, however; is a time to remember the personal commitment
dealers make to stay in the arena and bring to the public at large the fruits of their
knowledge and experience, not to mention their specific tastes and unique eye.
Representing Canada’s leading artists, ADAC members possess valuable information
that would benefit the novice and experienced collectors alike. I encourage you
to participate in our “Trust the Experts” programme and to take advantage of this
unique opportunity to speak with a dealer.
Once again, Linel and his team have successfully brought to Toronto a showcase
of dealers and the artistic talent they represent from across Canada and abroad
for all to enjoy and appreciate.
