Amy Solomon (Lincoln County). Amy’s father, Jess Solomon, passed away on December 29.<br />

Dennis Kaan (Golden Plains). Dennis’s uncle, Cecil Butler Kaan, passed away on January 4. Services<br />
were held in Lusk, WY. Dennis and his father ranched with his Uncle Cecil for years in Wyoming.<br />

Jamie Jo Axtell (Golden Plains). Jamie’s grandmother, Violet Margaret Mekelburg, passed away on<br />

Barbara Bates (El Paso County). Barbara’s father passed away on December 22. Cards may be sent<br />

Quentin Glass, husband of Bonnie Glass (retired Family and Consumer Science Agent in Boulder<br />

Kaye Kasza (Southeast Area). Kaye’s father- in-law, Willard Kasza, passed away on January 24.<br />

address, 27850 County Rd LL, McClave, CO 81057.<br />
The family of Henry (Hank) Gronewoller who died in January. Hank worked at CSU <strong>Extension</strong> as a<br />
ranch management specialist. He retired from CSU in 1982, but he continued working with the<br />
Western Slope ranchers, building relationships and stories that he loved sharing with the family.<br />
The family of James (Jim) Oxley who died January 16 after a short illness. He was the department<br />
head of the Animal Science Department at CSU.<br />

Congratulations to . . .<br />
Ann Bruce (PI) and Thao Le (Co-PI) in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies.<br />
CSU was recently awarded $215,000 to run five Adventure Camps for youth ages 14-18 that have an<br />
active serving military parent. The four-day camps will run this summer at Pingree Park. Funding was<br />
made available from a partnership between the DOD and USDA/NIFA.<br />

degree from the Daniel’s College of Business, <strong>University</strong> of Denver. Most recently she has been a<br />
biology laboratory technician at DU Biology Department in Denver. She is a former member of<br />
<strong>Colorado</strong> 4-H and grew up in Morgan County.<br />

the past 13 years. I am married and have 3 daughters, Taeryn 9, Taylor 8 and Reece 7 months old. I<br />
enjoy “working out”, especially running, and spending time with my family.<br />
Job Experience: I have worked in the secondary education system as a certified athletic trainer<br />
for Denver Bronco Sports Medicine at Eaglecrest High School in Littleton. I taught science at<br />
Holyoke High School for 13 years, and I also have coached basketball and track for junior high and<br />
high schools.<br />
