Annual Health and safety
Performance Report
Continuous Improvements
We have strong links with Operational Intelligence so
that intelligence from near hits and accidents can be
considered with the debrief information.
We have strong links to the Hazmats Section to support
them in chemical safety.
We reviewed and refreshed our contractor
procedures and training course.
We reviewed our COSHH (Control of Substances
Hazardous to Health) assessments.
The SHE Team are recognised as enablers. Here
to assist your projects running safely. Contrary to
popular belief the SHE Team have never prevented
any activity. We cut through the red tape to enable
things to proceed safely.
We assisted the Representative Bodies in their safety
inspections at Headquarters and Safeside.
We carried out numerous computer workstation assessments
and improved the ergonomics for the end user.
STAR Launch
We reviewed and updated OPNI Managing Risk at incidents
and worked closely with Bill Gough and others in introducing
STAR, a personal safety model for Firefighters.
Roger Bodycote
Roger Bodycote retired after
9 years dedicated service as a SHE
Advisor. Thank you to Roger for his
contribution to improving health
and safety within WMFS. The Team is
now smaller.
