The Maclaurin Collection
11th - 26th January
For January, an exhibition on the theme of colour with a selection from the Maclaurin Collection of
paintings, prints and drawings by national and international artists of the 20th and 21st centuries,
including Bridget Riley, Victor Vasarely and Alan Davie.

2014 Maclaurin Art Exhibition
Primary and Nursery Schools

The Maclaurin Art Exhibition supports the creativity of pupils in Primary and Nursery schools in
South Ayrshire, showcasing a diverse display of art work and ideas from pre-5 to 12 year olds,
featuring the Maclaurin Awards.

Ayr Art Circle
Members’ Exhibition

Members of Ayr Art Circle present a selection of recent work for sale, featuring local scenes,
portrait and still life studies.
Glasgow Society of Women Artists
Members’ Exhibition
9th March - 6th April
The Maclaurin Art Gallery welcomes the first exhibition of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists.
The GSWA has a membership of 151 women artists working in painting, sculpture, ceramics,
textile art and jewellery and members will show a variety of recent work for sale.

Ayr Photographic Society

Founded in 1905, Ayr Photographic Society is one of the oldest photographic clubs in
Scotland. From beginners to professional photographers, its members showcase a variety of
images depicting landscapes and portraits and capturing events and special moments.
Sculpture
13th April - 11th May
Looking at the art of sculpture, its aesthetic form and statement through different materials of
stone, metal, wood and found objects, by artists such as George Wyllie, Gavin Scobie and invited
contemporary sculptors.

Open Studios Ayrshire
26th April - 11th May
The Maclaurin Art Gallery will provide studio space to support the 2014 Open Studios Ayrshire
Event by showcasing the work of members associated with the OSA group. This is a great
opportunity for the public to meet the artists and makers, view their work and see the processes of
their art and craft over the open studios weekend of Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th April.
