Tribal Fair Parade showcases local groups
Southern Ute tribal members show off their regalia during the Saturday morning parade.
This year’s Southern
Ute Tribal Fair Parade
was one of the biggest yet,
hosting floats from a variety
of tribal and community
organizations and causes
on the morning of Saturday,
Sept. 8. Led by Grand Marshal
Austin Box, a tribal elder, and
coordinated by the Southern
Ute Finance Department, the
parade drew hundreds along
the sides of Goddard Avenue
in downtown Ignacio.
Apache dancers added a strong cultural element to the
annual parade, which hosts highly varied entries.
