Following my graduation from UCD, I studied<br />

<strong>for</strong> a Diploma in Public Relations accredited by<br />

the Public Relations Institute of Irel<strong>and</strong>. I began<br />

my career as Public Relations Officer <strong>for</strong> a new<br />

telecommunications company, Spirit Telecom,<br />

where I developed my PR expertise, eventually<br />

managing all consumer <strong>and</strong> corporate media<br />

relations <strong>for</strong> the firm.<br />

I then moved into consultancy, joining an<br />

agency, Elevate Public Relations, where I<br />

worked as Account Director – managing a<br />

number of client accounts <strong>and</strong> new business<br />

development. From consultancy I moved back<br />

to in-house public relations. I am currently<br />

Senior Press Officer <strong>for</strong> the Central Bank <strong>and</strong><br />

Financial Services Authority of Irel<strong>and</strong>,<br />

developing <strong>and</strong> managing media relations<br />

programmes <strong>for</strong> both the Financial Regulator<br />

<strong>and</strong> Central Bank.<br />

Although my studies in history <strong>and</strong> politics<br />

have no direct connection with my career<br />

choice, I developed a number of skills at<br />

university including writing, research,<br />

communications, planning skills <strong>and</strong> an<br />

interest in current affairs – all of which are<br />

essential to my work today.<br />
