Man Shot Dead in Redwood City Apartment
A man was shot in his Redwood City apartment and died later at Stanford
Hospital in an incident that police are saying is neither a suicide nor gang related.
Robert Florence, 30, was found by Redwood City police suffering multiple
gunshot wounds at an apartment on Wayne Court in the southeast area of the
city, according to police.
Florence was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead,
according to police. Police responded to 126 Wayne Court East on a report of
a man who had been shot inside his residence, according to police.
“We do not believe it is a suicide,” said Redwood City police Capt. Ed Hernandez.
No arrests were made in the shooting death of Florence and police have not
released any suspect information.
The homicide victim was no stranger to law enforcement. He was arrested
in 1997 for felony assault and served time in prison. In 2005, he was arrested
for drug sales and was arrested last month for driving under the influence of alcohol.
“It is not gang related,” Hernandez said. “We are following up on leads and
actively investigating the case.”
The 911 call came from within the residence where Florence was found
shot, Hernandez said.
Florence, also known as Money Rob, was an entertainer and promoter who
had a regular Internet radio talk show and was affiliated with several other
local companies, including Cattinoff.com, Glam Chickz School and Freestyle
Records, according to his MySpace and Facebook pages.
Hours before his death, he was scheduled to host a discussion on
“[deadbeat] dads and why they’re so many in the African-American
community” on realtalk01 on Blog Talk Radio.
Archives of his radio shows can be found on the Moneyrob’s Channel on YouTube.
Florence was not employed at the time of his death, according to police.
Police and county forensic investigators were still at the Wayne Court
apartment complex more than 10 hours after the shooting was first called in.
All three units of the complex were taped off by police.

Open Enrollment Begins in February
The Redwood City School District offers a variety of options to parents of
kindergarten through eighth-grade students. All schools provide students with
a rigorous academic program based on a common instructional framework,
but each school has its own unique emphasis, classroom approach and

All students in the district are welcome to complete an application to attend
North Star Academy starting Monday, Jan. 10. The application is available
at the North Star office or can be downloaded from the North Star website,
www.rcsdk8/nsa. The deadline for North Star applications is Feb. 25 by 3 p.m.
