MIKE BOXHALL, RCST®, FCSTA OFFERS
“THE BLESSING OF INSECURITY”
SPONSORED BY TREE OF LIFE CENTER, AN NCBTMB APPROVED PROVIDER
FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION
AT TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS IN THE UNITED STATES
(This is the fifteenth and sixteenth running of this course which qualifies for credit towards the
Advanced Training Certificate of the Karuna Institute - for suitably qualified participants as well as 33
CE’s for NCBTMB)
Why do we make an enemy of insecurity? All growth, by definition is into the unknown. Let us make an
ally of insecurity and allow ourselves to work with it. If we know where we are going we are going round
in circles.
Since this seminar was first presented in 1997, it has substantially altered in response to the students
attending it. It is my hope that this will continue to happen. The course stands very satisfactorily on its
own and also serves as an introduction to the “The Embodied Spirit” series.
There is a way of moving in this world unaided by certainty ..........with mind wide open and closed to
answers, feel for the way (LAO TZU)
We have no need to know what we should be doing to the patient. We need only to keep on asking the
next question and receive the patient at a progressively deeper level. The course moves towards
establishing a truly client centered therapy.
What are these levels and where do we access them, in the patient or in ourselves? We have incarnated
in physical bodies. Let us ground ourselves in those bodies, in the present.
In spite of several hundred years of programming can we remember to be Human Beings and let go of
being Human Doings? Underneath this, perhaps new age phrase, lies the truth that real healing can take
place when we are fully heard at a deep level of being. Let us work towards this, as a priority, rather
than alleviation of the expressed symptom.
The course will be grounded in the work of Franklyn Sills in succession to the work of William Garner
Sutherland. The work of other teachers, modern and more ancient will be interwoven. The prime thrust
will be the acceptance of the fact that at the core all beings are whole! (James S. Jealous D.O.).Our task

is to mirror that wholeness, not correct the imbalance. We shall seek to work with the health, not
energize the pathology. Buddhist and Daoist principles underpin the work, though no demands are
made on other belief systems, all of which are encouraged and respected. This course is also open to
people with an appropriate intentionality even though they may not be Craniosacral Therapists.
Michael Boxhall, RCST, FCSTA, has been a practicing therapist for thirty years in the fields of
counseling, psychotherapy (Jungian), acupuncture, and craniosacral therapy. He served as
chairman of the CSTA of the United Kingdom for five years and has published several articles and
poems in the field of craniosacral therapy. Mike is a board member of the Craniosacral Therapy
Association of North America. He currently teaches advanced cranial courses and has a private
practice and supervision group in the United Kingdom. His work explores the depths of stillness
within body, mind and spirit, thereby reconnecting to health and the core essence of being. His
background in Buddhism underpins his work. www.stillness.co.uk
