ANNA CHITTY
RCST®, RPP, BA
The Biodynamic Model:
Resonating with
Deeper Levels
This work is about a
“meeting” or a “coming
together.” We meet as
two individuals and
whenever we truly
meet we are opened to something much more
mysterious and vast which has the potential to
change us both. The beauty of this work is
that we can touch the depth of ourselves in
relationship with the depth of each other. We
have the opportunity to experience Essence in
relationship.
Anna is co-owner of the Colorado School of
Energy Studies in Boulder, CO and is their lead
teacher of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. A
graduate of Princeton University, Anna began
her career in the field of holistic health in 1979
and was first introduced to this model of
Craniosacral Therapy in 1989. Anna has been
teaching foundation courses in Biodynamic
Craniosacral Therapy since 1996.
MIKE BOXHALL
RCST/UK, FCSTA: You Really Can Rely upon the Tide
Mike is interested in the experience of many
graduate practitioners
who reach a time when
the excellent model that
started them in this
work ceases to cover
the experience that is
actually revealing itself
in their joint practice
with the client. The
practitioner is now at the edge of what should
be and what is. Finding the permission to move
through this point of limitation to infinite potential
is what we will explore in this session, in which
Mike will guide us with both didactic time and
table exchanges.
Mike currently serves on the Board of
Directors of CSTA/NA and has previously spent
five years as chairman of CSTA/UK. He currently
teaches advanced trainings in
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy in the US,
UK, Spain and Germany. Over the last 35 years
Mike has settled into practicing Buddhism and
working as a therapist. He now mostly teaches
and writes about BCST. He studied with
Franklyn Sills pre-Karuna and has found, and
teaches, that in the words of the Buddha,
“Enlightenment is in the body”.
JAAP VAN DER WAL
MD, PhD: Is There a Soul Before Birth? Contours
of an Embryology of Incarnation
Jaap will lead us in an unfolding of the phenomenological
view of the spiritual dimension of the
embryo. How does it look if we consider the
human embryo at the early phase of incarnation?
Can we “see” soul coming in? And if yes,
how? And when? Does there exist a certain
moment of incarnation?
If man is a being of
mind and body, then
embryonic existence is
the manifestation of a
spiritual being as well.
To paraphrase
DelaMettrie, an opponent
of Descartes: “The
embryo is not getting a soul, it is soul as well”.
A phenomenological embryological approach is
the method to investigate something like the
“act of incarnation”. To develop the contours of
such an approach is the challenging aim of this
presentation.
Jaap is an associate Professor of Anatomy
and Embryology at the University of Maastricht,
Holland. As an Anthroposophist Jaap’s goal is to
bridge the natural sciences and spirituality by
means of the phenomenological approach of
Goethe. “I (Jaap) have discovered that for me
science and religion, matter and spirit, macrocosm
and microcosm, creation and evolution
meet each other in the phenomenological
process of becoming a human being.”
ANNA CHITTY
Perceptions, Presence and the Heart
Anna will lead participants through some perceptual
exercises that will help develop a
ground from which to make contact with spaciousness
and presence, recognizing the profound
interconnectedness of us as a group
body and the potential that gives us to be a
vehicle for the Breath of Life. This presentation
will include the use of multimedia, didactic,
perceptual exercises and table work.
CLAIRE
DOLBY
DO, RCST/UK: Listening to
the Little Ones, a Personal
Journey
We know that the prenatal
environment and birth
experience have deep
and imprinting effects on
the consciousness of our children. Children are
our future world – what can we do to assist
deep healing and change through craniosacral
therapy? This presentation will be didactic.
Claire has been an osteopath since 1985 and
an RCST since 1987. Since 1987 she has been on
the faculty of Karuna Institute in the UK and also
teaches in Europe. In 2003 Claire became part of
a teaching team for the Prenatal and Birth
Training in Dresden, Germany. She is involved in
developing the Postgraduate Cranial Program in
the UK and abroad. She has studied extensively
with Franklyn Sills and Ray Castellino.
MIDGE MURPHY
JD, PhD: Ethics and
Craniosacral Therapy
Midge will lead us in an
interactive presentation
regarding ethical issues
in Craniosacral Therapy,
inviting exploration and
deepening of the experience
and understanding
of the Sacred Contract between therapist and
client. Ethical conduct is vital to the integrity,
authenticity and acceptance of innovative
mind/body therapies in the health care industry,
and it is imperative that craniosacral practitioners
have a solid ethics foundation.
Midge understands both law and the healing
arts. She received her JD from Western State
University College of Law and studied with
Carolyn Myss, PhD, and Norman Shealy, MD,
PhD, earning her PhD in Energy Medicine from
Holos University. In combining these two interests
Midge has garnered expertise in the emerging
field of CAM law.
FRIDAY EVENING: CREATION CAFÉ
SARAJO BERMAN
RCST®, MFA
During this evening of community-building, Sarajo
Berman will lead us in a biodynamic experience
of evolution through
movement, sound and
images: an exploration
designed to evoke a
sense of passage, a
change in one’s perceptions
and the holding of
the possibility for synchronicity
within the individual,
the individual in relationship to the group,
and the group in relationship to the field.
Sarajo has a 30 plus year career in performing,
choreographing and teaching modern and other
dance forms. During the 70’s she studied
Laban/Bartenieff Fundamentals, Alexander
Technique, Body Mind Centering and Authentic
Movement. From 1995–2000 she taught
mind/body/centering classes for the Women’s
Studies department at Duke University and has also
taught in the dance department at Hollins College.
