<strong>THE</strong> SWAROVSKI COLLECTIVE – <strong>SPRING</strong> <strong>SUMMER</strong> <strong>2012</strong><br />
<strong>THE</strong> <strong>BELIEF</strong>:<br />
<strong>Swarovski</strong>’s goal is to encourage and challenge fashion talent to push the boundaries of crystal.<br />
Designers are invited to use SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS in pioneering and innovative ways across<br />
their Womenswear and Menswear collections.<br />
<strong>Swarovski</strong> seeks to support designers who embrace crystal as a creative material, who are<br />
inspired by the limitless potential that crystals bring to their collections and who are excited to<br />
position <strong>Swarovski</strong> crystal as an integral part of their collections.<br />
The staple of designers who form the <strong>Swarovski</strong> Collective is a considered, intelligent and<br />
strategic grouping of talent. <strong>Swarovski</strong> prides itself on collaborating with the industry’s most<br />
cutting edge, creative and innovative designers.<br />
This program is highly selective and, should the partnership go ahead, the contract is legally<br />
binding. Brands should only apply if there is a strong and natural interest in SWAROVSKI<br />
ELEMENTS and if this level of commitment is viable and achievable within their business<br />
structure.<br />
<strong>THE</strong> CRITERIA:<br />
Applicants must be inspired by and have a strong desire to work with crystal.<br />
Applicants must validate why crystal is an integral part of their design and how support from<br />
<strong>Swarovski</strong> would benefit their collection.<br />
Applicants must confirm that they will show at New York, London, Milan, Paris Fashion Week or<br />
Paris Couture week.<br />
Applicants must have a business and be prepared to present a business strategy.<br />
Applicants who have received sponsorship in the past will also be judged on their innovative use<br />
of crystal in previous collection(s), the amount of media value and exposure <strong>Swarovski</strong> received<br />
from the collaboration, and the designer’s ability to re-invent their designs and ways of<br />
incorporating crystal into their upcoming collection.<br />
<strong>THE</strong> BENEFITS:<br />

Product support in line with the designers concepts for incorporating crystal into the collection.<br />
Full crystal application support.<br />
Financial support in line with the crystal integration in the collection and scale of the<br />
communication campaign.
Global exposure via <strong>Swarovski</strong> PR, communications and social media campaigns.<br />
Opportunity to be included in a highly stylized fashion film series produced by <strong>Swarovski</strong> and<br />
supported by <strong>Swarovski</strong>’s international PR network.<br />
Presence in key <strong>Swarovski</strong> showrooms globally and during <strong>Swarovski</strong> Press Day(s).<br />
Global exposure to international press via look book.<br />
Access to high profile events such as; ANDAM, CFDA’S, Design Miami, Art Basel, Frieze.<br />
Opportunity to co-host an event with <strong>Swarovski</strong> or Trunk Show.<br />
Full crystal application support.<br />
Opportunity to be invited to design an Atelier <strong>Swarovski</strong> collection for a future season.<br />
Exposure via Salt, <strong>Swarovski</strong>’s bi-annual design and fashion magazine (Global distribution of<br />
40k).<br />
CONDITIONS OF PARTNERSHIP<br />
There must be a minimum of 5 crystal looks within the show.<br />
The Designer to be available for the <strong>Swarovski</strong> Collective Announcement Press Breakfast.<br />
There will be an opportunity for one crystal look – either the original or a duplicate to be<br />
owned by <strong>Swarovski</strong> at the end of the season and included in the <strong>Swarovski</strong> Archive<br />
Collection, alongside designers including Balenciaga, Dior and Alexander McQueen.<br />
The Designer will partake in a number of key interviews within his/her studio pre show and/or at<br />
the show for PR and communication purposes and <strong>Swarovski</strong> will require backstage access for<br />
filming purposes.<br />
<strong>Swarovski</strong> will receive complimentary tickets to the show.<br />
Throughout the collaboration the Designer and <strong>Swarovski</strong> will share and connect their social<br />
media platforms and activities to maximise exposure of the collaboration. This includes, but is not<br />
limited to, any Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Tumblr and blogging activities.<br />
<strong>THE</strong> NEXT STEPS:<br />
If you feel your brand meets the outlined criteria please apply via the attached form by Friday,<br />
May 20 th , 2011. Incomplete applications or applications received after this date will not be<br />
considered.<br />
The Designer and PR will be required to present your application at <strong>Swarovski</strong> Corporate<br />
Communications, upon request.<br />

An overall theme of the collection including a minimum of 5 sketches demonstrating the<br />
integration of SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, your visual inspiration, fabric swatches etc.
A communication campaign for Spring Summer <strong>2012</strong>, including ways to promote the collaboration<br />
via social media implementation.<br />
The goal of the discussion will be to talk about how you, the designer, envisions the collaboration.
