• 9.00mm crochet hook
• Scissors, yarn needle

Instructions:
Row 1: Make 5ch, 1dtr in 1st ch,
7ch, turn (1 lp).
Row 2: 1dc in lp, 3ch, 1dtr in same
lp, 7ch, turn (2 lps).
Row 3: 1dc in 1st lp, 5ch, 1dc in
next lp, 3ch, 1dtr in same lp, 7ch,
turn (3 lps).
Row 4: 1dc in 1st lp, (5ch, 1dc in
next lp) twice, 3ch, 1dtr in last lp,
7ch, turn (4 lps).
Row 5: 1dc in 1st lp, (5ch, 1dc in
next lp) 3 times, 3ch, 1dtr in last lp,
7ch, turn (5 lps).
Repeat row 5 until you have 40
rows - remembering to add 1 set of
(5ch, 1 dc in next lp) for each row.
{ie: Row 6: (5ch, 1dc in next lp) 4
times, Row 7: (5ch, 1dc in next lp)
5 times, etc.}
Edging:
Turn work sideways, 5ch, 1dc in
1st lp, *(3ch, 1dc in next lp), repeat
from * all the way down the side
edge, including bottom lp; work
3ch, then 1dc in same bottom lp
but on the other side of the starting
thread then, ** (3ch, 1dc in next lp)
repeat from ** all the way up the
other side, including last lp, 1ch, 1tr
into same lp, then work a row of dc
evenly across the top of the shawl.
Fasten off and sew in all ends.
Cut 45-50cm lengths of yarn and
attach 4-5 strands evenly spaced
along both sides for fringing.
Tip: The number of rows should
always equal the number of loops
in that row.
