advanced radiotherapy modalities including
Image Guided Radiotherapy and Image Guided
Radiosurgery, Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy,
Volumetric Intensity Modulated Arc

along with conventional and 3-D conformal
radiotherapy. This new technology is only in a

DA VINCI S SURGICAL SYSTEM
The Da Vinci S Robotic Surgical System
integrates groundbreaking robotic technology
with 3D, high definition endoscopy. Using this
equipment, our surgeons can perform more
complex, minimally invasive keyhole surgery.

CT ANGIOGRAM
A computerized tomography (CT) coronary
angiogram is an imaging test to look at the
arteries that supply your heart muscle with
blood. Unlike a traditional coronary angiogram,
a coronary CT angiogram relies on a powerful
x-ray machine to produce images of your heart
and heart vessels. CT angiograms don’t require
the recovery time needed with traditional
angiograms.

PET/CT SCANNER
Our new cutting edge CT PET Scanner fuses high
definition PET and CT images to produce accurate,
detailed analysis of the anatomy and function of the
region being examined, thus demonstrating how a
part of the body is working, rather than simply what
it looks like. The scanner boasts whole body scanning
times of 20 minutes and is located in a newly
refurbished bright and spacious suite where every
consideration is given to patient comfort.
3 TESLA MRI
Tesla is the unit of measurement quantifying the
strength of a magnetic field. The magnetic field
produced by the Liv Hospital 3T MRI System yields
exceptional anatomic detail. Increased image clarity
revealed by 3T is particularly beneficial for pathological
conditions involving the brain, spine, and musculoskeletal
system. 3 Tesla MR Angiogram studies may
often supplant the need for invasive interventional
catheter studies.

ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL CATHETER ABLATION
Electrophysiological Catheter Ablation is a minimally
invasive procedure in which a thin, flexible tube or
catheter is inserted into a blood vessel and threaded
through the blood vessel to the heart. The doctor can
then apply radiofrequency energy, laser energy or
freezing temperature (cryoablation) to destroy the
abnormal heart tissue which causes the arrhythmia
or irregular heartbeat.
PACEMAKER
A pacemaker is a small device that’s placed in the
chest or abdomen to help control abnormal heart
rhythms. This device uses electrical pulses to prompt
the heart to beat at a normal rate. A pacemaker can
relieve some arrhythmia symptoms, such as fatigue
and fainting, and help a person who has abnormal

CORONARY BY-PASS SURGERY
It is a surgical procedure performed to relieve
angina and reduce the risk of death from
coronary artery disease. Arteries or veins
from elsewhere in the patient’s body are
grafted to the coronary arteries to bypass
atherosclerotic narrowings and improve the
blood supply to the coronary circulation
supplying the myocardium (heart muscle).

ARRHYTHMIA TREATMENT
Although arrhythmia (an irregular
heartbeat) generally affects patients
over the age of 60, younger individuals
also sometimes suffer cardiac rhythm
disorders. The possibility of recurrence
of such disorders can be significantly
diminished by providing patients who
have undergone surgery with simultaneous
treatment.
AORTA ANEURYSMS (“BALLOONING”)
The aorta is the largest artery in the body,
originating from the left ventricle of the heart
and extending down to the abdomen. An aortic
aneurysm (“ballooning”) of the aorta, usually
representing a weakness in the wall of the aorta
. Once diagnosed, the only treatment option is
surgery. Either the aneurysm is removed and the
damaged part of the blood vessel replaced with a
man-made graft, or a “stent” is inserted without
the need for open surgery. If the aorta valve is
normal, complex valve-saving interventions such
as the “David procedure” may be required.
HEART VALVE REPAIR
Surgical intervention is required to repair
damaged or faulty heart valves, which, in
appropriate cases, avoids the need to
replace the mitral valve. The Liv Hospital

Gynecologic oncology is a specialized field of medicine that focuses on cancers of the female reproductive

Our Gynecologic Oncology Center performs a broad spectrum of services including surgery,
