The mission of <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Wing</strong> <strong>School</strong> is to provide our students with the necessary skills to become lifelong learners in their<br />

Student and <strong>School</strong> Demographics<br />
<strong>Red</strong> <strong>Wing</strong> <strong>School</strong> is a fully modern, Kindergarten to Grade 8 school of approximately 230 students. It is located about 5 km<br />
north of Prince Albert, on the <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Wing</strong> Service road. <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Wing</strong> <strong>School</strong> offers a full range of academic classes including<br />
everything from language arts and mathematics to band, and practical and applied arts. Students also participate in various<br />
assemblies, field trips and outdoor education. <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Wing</strong> <strong>School</strong> also offers a full range of student athletics and activities that<br />
include, cross country running, volleyball, basketball, badminton and choir and track and field. After hours use of the school<br />
includes groups such as Girl Guides and Brownies. We are very proud of the services we offer to our students at <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Wing</strong><br />
and we welcome your inquires and invite you to come and visit our school.<br />

Governance Structure<br />
<strong>School</strong> Community Council<br />
The <strong>School</strong> Community Council meets regularly to work collaboratively with the school’s staff. Throughout the school year<br />
the <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Wing</strong> <strong>School</strong> Community Council has a number of projects that benefit students. For example, the SCC:<br />
- Conducts an annual volunteer survey,<br />
- Sponsors parent and student activities such as family dances,<br />
- Brings guest speakers to school on various subjects<br />
- Sponsors the Babysitting Course, and,<br />
- Hosts events like Meet the Staff Night.<br />

<strong>Red</strong> <strong>Wing</strong> <strong>School</strong>’s program includes:<br />
- A high commitment to academic instruction and student learning<br />
- A band program for students in Grades 5 to 8 that includes a junior and a senior band<br />
- Practical and Applied Arts courses for all students in Grades 7 and 8<br />
- Resource-based learning classes for all students in Grades 1 to 6<br />
- A physical education program that utilizes the gym and other off-site facilities<br />
- Educational Support Teachers and Associates to support the learning needs of all students<br />
