JANS Certification • <strong>Solid</strong> <strong>State</strong> Devices, Inc. takes great pride in announcing that DLA Land and Maritime (formerly DSCC)<br />

has granted JANS certifi cation for its 34,500 sq. ft. main manufacturing facility and 13,000 sq. ft. wafer fabrication facility, which are<br />

both located in La Mirada, California. SSDI looks forward to continuing its work with DLA Land and Maritime to qualify more of its current<br />

product offerings for JANS certifi cation, the highest quality level assigned by MIL-PRF-19500. Furthermore, SSDI welcomes customer<br />

input on other devices to include for JANS certifi cation. The qualifi cation of products has begun with JANS1N6517, a 5 KV stack junction<br />

Twenty years ago SSDI launched the fi rst hermetic application specifi c power module for space fl ight, combining the reliability of discrete<br />

semiconductors with the design advantages of conventional power hybrids. SSDI’s power module confi gurations include 3 Phase<br />

Bridges, Half Bridge Switch, Full Bridge Switch, Boost Converter, Buck Converter, Double Forward Converter and Thrust Vector Controls.<br />

Standard Terms of Quotations and Sales<br />

1. Changes:<br />

Except as provided in specifi c option clauses, unilateral changes shall not include<br />

changes in quantities. Any reductions in quantities will constitute partial terminations<br />

for convenience. Any increases in quantities will constitute new purchases<br />

subject to product availability and to separate negotiation of price, delivery schedule<br />

and terms, except as provided at Variation in Quantity below.<br />

2. Source Inspection:<br />

Unless specifi cally stated otherwise, SSDI’s prices do not include allowance for<br />

customer or Government source inspection. Buyer may impose such inspections at<br />

a charge of $500.00 per visit/day.<br />

3. Termination for Convenience:<br />

SSDI will accept a termination for convenience subject to the recovery limitations<br />

applicable under Government prime contracts (i.e., without anticipatory profi t or<br />

burden absorption) when such termination results from termination of a Federal<br />

Government prime contract. All other terminations for convenience shall not be subject<br />

to such limitations and shall give rise to remedies provided by applicable laws<br />

governing sales of goods.<br />

4. Termination for Default:<br />

In no event shall SSDI be liable for consequential damages, which term includes but<br />

is not limited to: increased costs, losses or damages incurred under Buyer’s prime<br />

contract or contracts.<br />

5. Requests for Return:<br />

SSDI must be notifi ed within 45 days from the date of shipment regarding any<br />

quantity and/or quality disputes by the customer. All material subject to return must<br />

be accompanied by an RMA number.<br />

5.1 RMA Terms and Conditions:<br />

The Return Material Authorization Number shall be clearly indicated on the outside<br />

of the shipping container. The return shall contain a packing slip indicating the quantity,<br />

part number and date code for each part. In order to maintain traceability, each<br />

shipment, if multiple shipments are involved, shall be individually packaged. SSDI<br />

requires that all devices be suitably packaged to prevent mechanical or electrostatic<br />

discharge damage. SSDI cannot assume liability for mishandled devices. The Return<br />

Authorization will be cancelled if the parts are not received by SSDI within (60) days<br />

of the issuance of the Return Authorization.<br />

6. Payment Terms:<br />

Terms are determined by the customer’s credit status at the time of shipment.<br />

7. Rights in Technical Data<br />

Except as expressly agreed in typed or handwritten provisions appearing on the<br />

face of a purchase order, neither Buyer nor Buyer’s customers shall be entitled to<br />

delivery of any SSDI technical data describing components, processes, or methods<br />

of manufacture. No rights in such data or options to acquire rights in SSDI’s data are<br />

included in or created by Buyers orders.<br />

8. Cost Accounting Standards:<br />

SSDI is a small business and is therefore exempt from all Cost Accounting Standards<br />

(FAR 30.201-1), notwithstanding any provisions of buyer’s order to the contrary.<br />

9. Warranty:<br />

SSDI warrants that all goods furnished hereunder will be free from defects in material<br />

and workmanship and will conform to specifi cations at the time of delivery.<br />

SSDI’s liability under the warranty hereby provided shall be limited to repair or replacement<br />

of goods previously furnished; SSDI shall not be liable for consequential<br />

damages and in no event will SSDI’s liability for breach of this warranty exceed<br />

the total of prices of goods not in conformance with the foregoing warranty. THIS<br />

WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN-<br />

CLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR<br />

PURPOSE AND ALL SUCH OTHER WARANTIES ARE HEREBY EXCLUDED.<br />

10. Special Tools and Test Equipment:<br />

Unless specifi cally provided by typed or handwritten terms on the face of the<br />

Buyer’s order, neither Buyer nor Buyer’s customer shall acquire any right, title, or<br />

interest in any of SSDI’s tooling or test equipment, nor shall any requirements for<br />

accounting or restriction on use apply to SSDI tooling or test equipment.<br />

11. Prime Contract Clauses:<br />

SSDI accepts as “fl ow-downs” those Government contract clauses of Buyer’s order<br />

which are applicable to SSDI and which are required, by their terms, to be included<br />

in subcontracts. For purposes of “Buy American” clauses and regulations, SSDI understands<br />

that Buyer’s orders are for components and not for end items intended<br />

for public use.<br />

12. Specification Equivalents:<br />

The applicable version of all referenced specifi cations and standards shall be the<br />

revision or version in effect on the date of SSDI’s quotation. Where specifi cations<br />

require functional testing, SSDI reserves the right to use test methods, equipment<br />

and procedures, which, in the reasonable judgment of SSDI, or in accordance with<br />

industry custom and practice, are equivalent to the methods, equipment and procedures,<br />

specifi ed. Without limitation of the generality of the foregoing, SSDI reserves<br />

the right, when testing in accordance with MIL-PRF-19500 Table II or equivalent<br />

specifi cations, to perform burn-in screening as a single operation using conditions of<br />

screen 10 and duration of screen 12.<br />

13. Materials<br />

SSDI reserves the right to make or buy any materials. Traceability is limited to WLAT<br />

per MILSTD-750, Method 5001 or sample destructive physical analysis, at SSDI’s<br />

election.<br />

14. Laboratory Standards:<br />

SSDI’s laboratory facilities are maintained and operated to standards of MIL-<br />

STD-750, sec. 4. Unless special terms to the contrary are negotiated and agreed by<br />

SSDI, those standards will be deemed to satisfy Buyer’s requirements.<br />

15. Infringement Claims:<br />

When goods are made to Purchaser’s specifi cations or designs, Purchaser assumes<br />

liability for patent infringement and intellectual property claims of any third party and<br />

agrees to indemnify SSDI against such claims.<br />

16. Variation in Quantity:<br />

Purchaser agrees to accept either overage or shortage not to exceed 10% of total<br />

quantity, at stated unit price.<br />

17. MIL-PRF-19500 Applicability to Non-QPL Product:<br />

Acquisition for Non-QPL product cannot comply with all of the requirements indicated<br />

in MIL-PRF-19500 for qualifi ed QPL product. For Non-QPL products, SSDI will<br />

only utilize MIL-PRF-19500 requirements that are appropriate. Additionally, unless<br />

specifi cally indicated in the procurement specifi cation or contract, SSDI’s offer<br />

is contingent upon the following:<br />

a) For S level equivalent, SSDI will not be recording all equipment utilized<br />

b) ESD Classifi cation – SSDI will provide ESD classifi cation based on product history,<br />

topology, and similarity.<br />

c) Humidity Control – 30% minimum humidity will be maintained for all class 1<br />

devices. 20% minimum humidity will be maintained for all class 2 & 3 devices.<br />

d) Unless stipulated by contract, SSDI will not perform Lot Norm testing.<br />

e) Lot Formation for QCI – SSDI may start QCI on the fi rst portion of the lot that<br />

completes screening.<br />

f) For Hermeticity test Condition E, SSDI will utilize Alcohol in Lieu of Dye Penetrant<br />

g) For S level equivalent copies of travelers will not be provided.<br />

h) Rework provisions – The use of different irradiation levels to achieve device<br />

performance does not constitute rework.<br />

18. Design Control and Changes<br />

a) SSDI Data Sheet Parts – SSDI maintains a design and confi guration control<br />

system that will assure that parts comply with the performance requirements<br />

published in SSDI’s data sheet at the revision indicated in the quote. SSDI’s<br />

materials and process changes are not subject to customer approval.<br />

b) SCD Parts – Unless otherwise negotiated as part of the contract, If the SCD<br />

part has not been purchased from SSDI for over 5 years SSDI has the right to<br />

redesign the part based on current regulatory requirements, equipment, materials,<br />

and processes without concurrence or approval from the Customer. The<br />

redesigned part shall meet the form, fi t and function as defi ned by the SCD.<br />

▪ Begin by taking Airport Way Northeast toward MacArthur Blvd.<br />

▪ Turn Left onto MacArthur Blvd.<br />

▪ Drive 0.4 miles and merge onto I-405 Freeway North toward Long<br />

Beach.<br />

▪ Take the fi rst exit onto Route 55 Freeway North (exit 9A) toward<br />

Riverside.<br />
