2.3 Procedure for On-line Admission through AI (Study Centre)/Facilitation Centre<br />
All AIs/Study Centres <strong>of</strong> NIOS are authorised to open a On-line registration counter for facilitating<br />
learners in taking On-line admission. <strong>The</strong>y will also help the learners in pre-admission counselling, choice<br />
<strong>of</strong> study centres/Course, Medium <strong>of</strong> Instruction, transfer <strong>of</strong> credit, Credit accumulatin and other flexible<br />
features <strong>of</strong> NIOS etc,. <strong>The</strong> AI will follow the same procedure for On-line registration as in<br />
section 2.2. above. <strong>The</strong> AI will provide a copy <strong>of</strong> acknowledgement containing the reference<br />
number generated by computer to students for future correspondence with NIOS.<br />

Leaving Certificate showing<br />
applicant's date <strong>of</strong> birth, issued by the<br />
last school attended by the applicant.<br />
In case <strong>of</strong> Govt. schools the transfer<br />
certificate/school<br />
leaving certificate should be<br />
signed by the Principal while in the<br />
case <strong>of</strong> Private schools it should also<br />
be countersigned by<br />
the competent education authority <strong>of</strong><br />
State/or District Education Officer.<br />
Attested copy <strong>of</strong> the Certificate <strong>of</strong><br />
Matriculation/Secondary Examination<br />
having a record <strong>of</strong> the Date <strong>of</strong> Birth.<br />
(No other pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> age will be accepted<br />
for Sr. Secondary admission).<br />
Note: (i) In case <strong>of</strong> Orphan/Juvenile/Street Children, the Medical Legal Certificate may be provided as pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> Date<br />
<strong>of</strong> Birth.<br />
(ii)<br />
Date <strong>of</strong> birth once given in the Admission Form will not be changed. Please check and state the correct date<br />
<strong>of</strong> birth.<br />
(b) Minimum Certificate <strong>of</strong> Class Copy <strong>of</strong> the Certificate<br />
Educational VIII passed, or <strong>of</strong> the Secondary<br />
Qualifications Self Certificate (as mentioned at Examination passed from a<br />
the back <strong>of</strong> Admission Form) recognised Board <strong>of</strong><br />
Secondary Education duly<br />
attested by a Gazetted Officer<br />

Admission Forms received without supporting documents will be rejected and fee will not be refunded.<br />
If the Secondary level examination is not passed from a recognised Board, admission at<br />
Sr. Secondary level will not be considered. List <strong>of</strong> recognised Boards is given at Appendix 'C'.<br />
If you possess a High School/Secondary Certificate from any Foreign Board/University and want to take admission<br />
to Senior Secondary course <strong>of</strong> NIOS, you will be required to attach a certificate from the concerned Embassy to<br />
the effect that the examination passed by you is equivalent to the Indian High School/Secondary Examination.<br />
Address Pro<strong>of</strong> is not mandatory for admission.<br />
Only a maximum <strong>of</strong> three (03) admissions will be allowed on a given address.<br />
