Welcome to 

Moorsbus is a special network of bus services 

to and through the North York Moors. Moorsbus 

makes it easier to explore the area without the 

need for a car. This helps keep the moors a 

special and more enjoyable place, now and for 

future generations. 

Moorsbus tickets offer great value all day travel and 

can be bought on the bus – no need to book – just 

turn up and pay the driver. 

Fares – The bargain all day fare for passengers boarding and 

alighting at all locations within the inner zone is just £4 per person 

or £8 for a group or family (up to 2 adults and up to 4 children). 

For passengers travelling from or to the outer zone, the fare is 

£7 per person or £14 for a group or family. 

Local fares are available for single journeys – please ask the driver. 

Concessionary pass holders may travel free on production of a 

valid pass. (Local restrictions may apply). 

Children aged 5-15 may travel free when accompanying a fare 

paying adult. Up to 4 children per fare paying adult. 

Great value ticket books offer you a discount when 

purchasing one person all day tickets. 6 inner zone tickets cost 

only £20 (get one ticket free and save £4) or 6 outer zone 

tickets cost only £35 (get one ticket free and save £7). Ticket 

books are available from our National Park Centres at Sutton 

Bank and Danby, or from the National Park offices at Helmsley, 

or telephone 01845 597 426.

you want a leisurely stroll or

we’ll take you there. Moorsbus 

is ideal for linear walks, and 

the Cleveland Way can be 

accessed from many of our 

routes. If you want to alight 

in a rural location just ask 

the driver, he will stop the 

bus wherever it is safe to do so.

New for 2009 is an early-morning walkers special from Pickering to 

Saltergate car park. Pick your own route or call in to one of the local 

Tourist Information Centres for local knowledge, guide books 

and maps. Why not complete your day with a ride on the 

North Yorkshire Moors Railway or Esk Valley Railway? 

Moorslink tickets are available from the driver or from the 

conductor on the train. If you are travelling by car, park free 

at Saltergate car park and take advantage of the earlymorning 

journey into Pickering. Walk back to your car at your leisure. 

Service M50 provides the early-morning Pickering/Saltergate service – see page 13 

Yorkshire Coastliner serves Pickering and Saltergate/Hole of Horcum – see page 33 

Access for all 

Low floor easy access buses are normally provided on our long distance services, plus Scarborough & 

District’s service 128 and Yorkshire Coastliner’s service 840. See individual timetable pages for further details. 

Smaller buses, sometimes with stepped entrances, are required to serve routes where the roads are narrow 

or unsuitable for larger vehicles. If you need help with planning your journey on the Moorsbus Network using 

low floor easy access buses, please phone 01845 597 000 or speak to a Moorsbus Co-ordinator.

Connecting Services and Getting Home 

Drivers do their best to keep to the timetable but sometimes poor road 

conditions, bad weather or other circumstances may occasionally cause 

delays. Co-ordinators are aware of critical connections for passengers 

(especially end-of-day journeys to get you home) and will do their best to 

ensure everyone gets to where they want to be. 

If you are concerned about missing a connection or if you are 

travelling on the Moorsbus Network and need immediate help, 

please telephone 01845 597 000 (normally 8am to 8pm).
