Welcome to<br />

<strong>Moorsbus</strong> is a special network of bus services<br />

to and through the North York Moors. <strong>Moorsbus</strong><br />

makes it easier to explore the area without the<br />

need for a car. This helps keep the moors a<br />

special and more enjoyable place, now and for<br />

future generations.<br />

<strong>Moorsbus</strong> tickets offer great value all day travel and<br />

can be bought on the bus – no need to book – just<br />

turn up and pay the driver.<br />

Fares – The bargain all day fare for passengers boarding and<br />

alighting at all locations within the inner zone is just £4 per person<br />

or £8 for a group or family (up to 2 adults and up to 4 children).<br />

For passengers travelling from or to the outer zone, the fare is<br />

£7 per person or £14 for a group or family.<br />

Local fares are available for single journeys – please ask the driver.<br />

Concessionary pass holders may travel free on production of a<br />

valid pass. (Local restrictions may apply).<br />

Children aged 5-15 may travel free when accompanying a fare<br />

paying adult. Up to 4 children per fare paying adult.<br />

Great value ticket books offer you a discount when<br />

purchasing one person all day tickets. 6 inner zone tickets cost<br />

only £20 (get one ticket free and save £4) or 6 outer zone<br />

tickets cost only £35 (get one ticket free and save £7). Ticket<br />

books are available from our National Park Centres at Sutton<br />

Bank and Danby, or from the National Park offices at Helmsley,<br />

or telephone 01845 597 426.<br />

Moorslink tickets are available from the driver or from the<br />

conductor on the train. If you are travelling by car, park free<br />

at Saltergate car park and take advantage of the earlymorning<br />

journey into Pickering. Walk back to your car at your leisure.<br />

Low floor easy access buses are normally provided on our long distance services, plus Scarborough &<br />

Smaller buses, sometimes with stepped entrances, are required to serve routes where the roads are narrow<br />

Connecting Services and Getting Home<br />

Drivers do their best to keep to the timetable but sometimes poor road<br />

conditions, bad weather or other circumstances may occasionally cause<br />

delays. Co-ordinators are aware of critical connections for passengers<br />

(especially end-of-day journeys to get you home) and will do their best to<br />

ensure everyone gets to where they want to be.<br />

If you are concerned about missing a connection or if you are<br />

travelling on the <strong>Moorsbus</strong> Network and need immediate help,<br />

please telephone 01845 597 000 (normally 8am to 8pm).<br />
