RETAIL EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH - NOVEMBER 2010<br />

KAY HAMMONTREE<br />

Adm<strong>in</strong>istrative Support Assistant, Retail Adm<strong>in</strong>istration<br />

Ms. Kay has been with <strong>MCCS</strong> for a total of 38 years (Mr. Rooney calls her the<br />

“Employee of the Century”) Ms. Kay handles almost all <strong>in</strong>com<strong>in</strong>g paperwork, phone<br />

calls, FedEx, prepares the gas letter, the daily net sales report, gathers all <strong>in</strong>direct<br />

sales figures for the monthly report along with several other miscellaneous duties.<br />

She is reliable, has excellent communication skills, puts forth 110 percent effort every<br />

day, and has a very professional and pleasant attitude. Ms. Kay is a problem-solver<br />

and has the background knowledge of most situations due to her tenure with <strong>MCCS</strong>.<br />

She def<strong>in</strong>itely keeps the office mov<strong>in</strong>g and is a key employee <strong>in</strong> the department. Ms. Kay’s accomplishments are many. Recently, she<br />

has focused on work<strong>in</strong>g hard to compile necessary <strong>in</strong>formation from various PORs to complete a necessary sp<strong>read</strong>sheet. She has also<br />

been “hold<strong>in</strong>g down the fort” while her coworker was away on maternity and bereavement leave almost back-to-back.<br />

RHEA MENKE<br />

Sales Associate, Sight&Sound/Photo Department, Ma<strong>in</strong> Store<br />

Rhea’s duties <strong>in</strong>clude assist<strong>in</strong>g and serv<strong>in</strong>g customers with location, selection and<br />

purchase of merchandise with an emphasis on World Class Customer Service. She<br />

is responsible for merchandis<strong>in</strong>g, display, signage and appearance of department<br />

areas and possesses basic knowledge of electronics. Rhea has been with <strong>MCCS</strong> for<br />

over a year. She is a leader <strong>in</strong> Keep It New sales. In this competition she has always<br />

exceeded the normal results. She often goes above and beyond what is required of<br />

her. Rhea exemplifies World Class Customer Service. The communication skills that<br />

she possesses are very effective and she uses them to sell numerous add-on products daily. Rhea is very dependable and punctual.<br />

At times when other departments are short staffed, Rhea is always relied upon to work <strong>in</strong> those areas. She is a hard worker who pays<br />

attention to detail, and she takes great pride <strong>in</strong> all projects she is assigned to. Rhea generates the best possible results for any task<br />

that is given to her. She is not afraid to take <strong>in</strong>itiative, requires little to no supervision and she always has a great attitude. Rhea is a<br />

wonderful team player who provides a good example of leadership. Even with be<strong>in</strong>g a sales associate herself, she encourages her<br />

fellow coworkers to complete all tasks <strong>in</strong> a timely manner and promotes harmony and teamwork while do<strong>in</strong>g so.<br />

JENNIFER HUTCHISON<br />

Sales Associate, Home Store<br />

As a sales associate, Jennifer possesses knowledge of the entire store. She is able<br />

to assist customers with all <strong>in</strong>quires and possible special <strong>order</strong> questions. Jennifer<br />

understands the priorities of the store and is able to stock and restructure areas<br />

to make them more customer-friendly and appeal<strong>in</strong>g. She is always available at a<br />

moment’s notice to change her schedule to accommodate the store’s needs or assist<br />

another store <strong>in</strong> need of staff<strong>in</strong>g. Jennifer works well with everyone she comes <strong>in</strong><br />

contact with. Jennifer has been given the new task of <strong>order</strong><strong>in</strong>g and stock<strong>in</strong>g the pet<br />

area <strong>in</strong> the absence of a retail operations assistant on maternity leave who is normally <strong>in</strong> charge of this area. She has taken great<br />

<strong>in</strong>terest and pride <strong>in</strong> her new area of responsibility. She was recognized <strong>in</strong> the last town hall meet<strong>in</strong>g as a “star.”
