operational exchange of information and intelligence.<br />
Drawing on the practices during Operation Cocair IV,<br />
the JAITFs are keeping up the momentum for cooperation<br />
and revitalizing the network by increasingly<br />
using CENcomm Warning Messages to exchange<br />
operational information. A tighter information network<br />
is beginning to take shape within Project Aircop and<br />
through which, thanks to the CENcomm, over 100<br />
multidisciplinary staff are sharing extremely varied<br />
knowledge relating to all types of enforcement in the<br />
airport environment.<br />
A new feature of the Project Aircop version of the<br />
CENcomm tool is that it offers not only the possibility<br />
of communicating with the structures, but also of<br />
limited and direct contact with a JAITF unit or a<br />
specific official selected according to certain criteria, in<br />
order to ensure complete confidentiality and sensitivity<br />
with respect to particular issues.<br />
Finally, it is hoped that the multitude of skills<br />
demonstrated within the JAITFs will form a lasting<br />
aspect of the approach to sharing operational<br />
information and intelligence on airport crime and that<br />
these skills will be passed on to the countries<br />
associated with the Project, especially in Europe, in<br />
pursuit of Project Aircop’s objectives.<br />
