Message from Our Pastor
I hope that you had a blessed
celebration of Easter! This wonderful
season of the liturgical year invites us
to live life fully in the spirit of Jesus
Christ, our risen Lord and Savior, for
this 50 day season and beyond. May
the grace of the Holy Spirit help guide
us and sustain us as we seek to live in
the spirit of the words Jesus taught us
in response to the inquiry, “Lord, teach
us how to pray…”, …”Thy Kingdom
come, thy will be done on earth as it is
in Heaven”.
In the spirit of the Easter Season, as
we rejoice in the spirit of living life
fully, we are hopefully, conscious of the
many blessings that are part of daily
living, as people step forward to help
make a difference in our
neighborhoods, our parish community
and beyond.
One wonderful blessing this spring is
the coming together of the leadership
team for the upcoming 2014 Parish
Dinner/Auction. Once again, we are
blessed to have the co-chair team led
by Tim and Tracey Durst, who will be
joined by Derek and Sarah Hyde. This
great team is now in the process of
forming the strategies for another
successful parish event. Once again,
there will be a need for a team of
dedicated, generous team members.

My Annual Sabbatical Reunion
Next Saturday, April 13, I will fly to Newark, New Jersey, to
meet up with brother priests for our annual Sabbatical Study
Reunion Week.
I will be a participant in a special gathering of members from
our Sabbatical class, who met and studied at the North
American College in Rome during the fall semester in 1997,
when Timothy Cardinal Dolan was Rector. This year, we will be
celebrating our 15th anniversary reunion in a very special way.
I will be joining twelve brother priests on a pilgrimage to Vietnam for our
sabbatical reunion and since we will be in that part of the world, we decided to
add some time in China before heading home. One of my brother priests from
the NAC sabbatical program was originally from Vietnam and has spent most of
his priesthood operating out of Detroit, working on a national level with
Vietnamese Catholics. Father Vincent will play a special role in being a host and
a knowledgeable guide.
Members of our sabbatical group will gather for an extended time of study,
prayer and time away from our ministries, as we recharge our batteries to serve
the Lord and the Church with renewed enthusiasm and, hopefully, some new
insights and ideas. Topics that our presenters will cover include: the state of the
Catholic Church in Asia, especially, in Vietnam and China.
While I am away from the parish, Father Brad Krawczyk and members of the
Pastoral Staff will be prepared to meet any pastoral needs that might arise.
Please keep our Sabbatical group in your prayers. You will be in mine. I will
be returning to the Parish Center on Wednesday, May 1.

appliances and other items that lie
unused in your home. The society of
St. Vincent de Paul will recycle
unwearable items, give needy families
free access to the items they need, or
sell your donations at our new
beautiful store in Waukesha with
profits funding the many programs
that we offer.

narthex or at the big truck parked
near Parish Drive. Our scouts will
gladly help unload your car before

As the end of this school year
quickly approaches, it is time to
either nominate yourself or
someone whom you believe
would be a good addition to the
School Board. The School Board
is in need of 2 members to
replace those who will be
completing their terms on the
board. These positions will serve
3-year terms.
The School Board is open to all adult parish members. Being a St. Dominic
School parent is not a requirement.

“The Chrism Mass” by Archbishop Jerome Listecki, March 26, 2013
This Mass is a recommitment of all ordained
bishops, priests and deacons. It is a reminder of
the promises taken at ordination. The lay faithful
are also asked to make a commitment which
witnesses that they share in the priesthood of
Jesus Christ through the sacrament of baptism.
They are asked three questions: “As God’s
people, baptized and anointed in Christ, will you
dedicate yourselves to spreading the Gospel
message wherever you go?” “Will you continue
to care for people in want and in need?” “Will
you continue to live in unity with one another;
one with your Bishop and one in the Body and
Blood of Christ as you listen to Christ’s Word
and share in the Eucharist?”

Stewards In Our School!
7th grade students from St. Dominic
Catholic School packed 250 lunches
for The Gathering meal program in
downtown Milwaukee.
Half of the students made the
sandwiches and half of the students
made an assembly line to pack the
lunches. After people were served
breakfast at St. James/The Gathering
meal site, they would be given a
packed lunch to take along with them,
which would provide them another
meal during the day.
The students can be proud of this
meaningful work to this
worthwhile cause—especially
during Lent!
Stewardship Prayer
My church is
composed of people
like me. I help make it
what it is.
It will be friendly, if I
am.
Its pews will be
filled, if I help to fill
them.
It will do great
work, if I work.
It will make generous gifts to many
causes, if I am a generous giver.
It will bring other people into its

Looking For A New Chairperson
The St. Dominic Fine Arts Association needs a chairperson to continue the
organization of bringing the arts into the school. If you would like to see the
theatre programs continue and implement more programs for the 2013-14
school year, please contact Julie Reynolds at julierupenareynoldsms@gmail.com.
I am willing to help transition the chairperson, beginning with the summer
theatre program, which begins June 17. The commitment is a few hours per
month, emailing contacts to implement the theatre camps, etc.
New Coordinators For The Care Package Program By June 1st!
The Care Package program is an ongoing effort to keep our college students
and military members connected to our church community. The program
involves obtaining donations and coordinating the shipment of packages. The
time commitment is about 2 - 4 hours per week from August – November.

Classes resume this Tuesday evening, April 9. We are happy to have
everyone back!
Please continue to keep our 2nd graders in your prayers as they continue on
their journey toward First Eucharist. This weekend they are participating in
their day of reflection and deepening their knowledge in the Catholic faith,
as well as sharing in fellowship with their parents and classmates. First
Eucharist is May 4 & 5, during all Masses.

Divine Mercy Sunday Events
Holy Hour and Benediction for Divine Mercy, at
St. Mary’s Visitation, in Elm Grove, from 3:00–
4:00 pm, on Sunday, April 7. All are invited !
A talk entitled, "Why You Need to Know God's
Message of Mercy" will be given by Fr. Dan Cambra, MIC, former Provincial
of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception, at Queen of Apostles Parish,
in Pewaukee, on Tuesday, April 16, 7:00-9:00 pm.
Fr. Cambra served in the diocese of Milwaukee for 11 years before going on to
become Provincial of the Marians. Since his term as Provincial ended, he speaks
around the Country on Divine Mercy. Please plan on attending. Free materials
will be given to everyone and a blessing with the first class relic of St. Faustina
will be given. This event is free although a good will offering will be taken.
Spring Yard Cleanup for Interfaith, May 1—31, 2013
You, your family, congregation, community group, or business
can Spring Into Action by joining Interfaith Senior Programs
for a day of outdoor clean-up for seniors and adults with
disabilities, throughout Waukesha County. Projects include:
raking winter debris, cleaning gutters, washing windows,
weeding, installing screens, trimming bushes and placing lawn

Single Again is a quad-parish

Pius XI High School Theater Department and advanced students from Pius
Performing Arts. Due to the compressed practice schedule, participants must

Saturday morning at St. Dominic, in MC6 at 8:00 am.
Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Group
Caring for an aging or disabled loved one? This group is open to all adults and

The St. Dominic St. Vincent DePaul Society and Boy
Scouts would love to collect your spare clothing,
household goods, furniture, appliances and other items
that lie unused in your home.
The society of St. Vincent de Paul will recycle unwearable items, give
less fortunate families free access to the items they need, or sell your
donations at the new store in Waukesha with profits funding the many
programs that they offer.
Please leave items in the bins located outside of each church entrance or at the
big truck parked near Parish Drive. Our scouts will gladly help unload your car
before and after all Masses. Feel free to leave items all weekend in or near the
truck, if it’s not attended.
