4* THEMED HOTEL
MEDITERRANEAN WAY OF LIFE + MOORISH HERITAGE
= AUTHENTIC SPANISH HOSPITALITY
¡Hola amigos! The ‘El Andaluz’ welcomes you with warm, Mediterranean
colours, Moorish-inspired architecture and plenty of Spanish hospitality.
After having settled into your themed suite, stroll through the spacious palm
garden and take a dip in the heated outdoor pool – where your children, by
the way, have been enjoying themselves for a long time. When the ‘Spanish’
holiday sun has dried you again, it’s time for ‘Ensaladas y Carnes’ in the Don
Quichotte restaurant, ‘Tapas y Vino’ in the bodega or for a delicious cocktail
on the terrace of the El Circo bar. And then? In the mood for a siesta?
You can experience perfect relaxation in the ‘Marrakech’ feel-good oasis with
steam bath, dry sauna and oriental relaxation room. As Spanish as it gets!
HOTEL : SPANISH
¡VIVA ESPAÑA!
TEMPERAMENT
¡OLÉ!
FIESTA AT THE ‘EL ANDALUZ’
Do you hear the fiery sound of castanets? The hot-blooded play
of the guitar? And the rhythmic, fast steps of the racy flamenco
dancer? Then you have arrived in Spain’s Mediterranean south.
YOUR FIRST
HOTEL IMPRESSION:
A cast-iron, heavy chandelier
hangs from
the glass ceiling of the
lobby. Just below, a gently
splashing fountain.
You could almost
imagine yourself in
the courtyard of a
Moorish caliph’s palace.
A pleasant stroll through the gardens of the Alhambra, the scent
of cypresses on the nose, the splash of water games in the ears.
Admire Moorish ornaments and playful archways, the heritage of
Arab rulers. Continue towards the Costa del Sol, where the sun
is (almost) always shining. Salty sea air, white beaches and the
radiant light of the coast – the Spanish way of life and culture
naturally attract sun lovers.
It gets hectic in the old part of Seville. The labyrinth of narrow
streets provides thrills, and the palate should follow suit! It’s
best to stop by a typical Bodega, where Tapas and Tinto are on
the menu. Just be careful that the red wine does not go straight
to your head. Actually, a little bit of temperament never hurts in
Spain. Viva la vida, live life!
And now let us tell you a secret: everything that Spain’s south
holds in store for you, the ‘El Andaluz’ captures for you, too.
¡Viva España!
16 17

SOFT bedding fit for a
SPANISH KING
A total of 192 rooms and suites are available at ‘El Andaluz’. From standard to comfort to deluxe,
from themed suite to King suite – all decorated in bright, colourful Andalusian design with tasteful
details such as stunning murals over the bed, lots of small lamps and lights for comfortable light and
romantic four-poster canopies.
A DREAM OF A SUITE
Noble woods and sumptuous velvet
fabrics, cushions and blankets decorated
with coats of arms, and all enclosed in
a golden frame – this is how Felipe VI,
Spain’s reigning king, might sleep.
18 19

SUITES
Picturesque and royal
THEMED SUITES
The themed suites, each with its own bedroom
and living room, are dedicated to the great Spanish
artists, such as the Renaissance painter El Greco,
the baroque artist Diego Velázquez and the man who
he greatly influenced, Francisco de Goya. Of course,
you can also admire paintings of the great masters
in the suites.
KING SUITE
A morning newspaper not only pleases kings, but
also the residents of the king suite. The suite can
accommodate up to four guests in the bedroom with
double bed and an adjacent living room with bunk
bed and couch. Minibar, two flat screens, a bathroom
with bathtub and a balcony with sun loungers are
obligatory for a royal visit.
ROOMS
From practical to comfortable
STANDARD ROOMS
All standard rooms are equipped with a telephone
and desk, free high-speed internet access, air conditioning
and a flat-screen TV. The non-smoking rooms
comfortably accommodate up to four people.
‘COMFORT’ ROOMS
The ‘comfort’ rooms of the same name offer more
comfort with a balcony. The size of the room even
allows space for a sofa bed for a third guest.
‘DELUXE’ ROOMS
The ‘deluxe’ rooms have two rooms: a bedroom
with a double bed and a living room with a bunk
bed and a couch, providing ample space for up
20 21
to five people.

ENJOYABLY
REFRESHING
Flamingo red, sun yellow, sea blue - the façade of the ‘El Andaluz’ truly creates a
holiday mood. In addition, Moorish ornaments and arcades, signs of the heritage
of the former Arab rulers of Andalusia. Not to mention the refreshing outdoor pool,
palm trees, cypresses and water features. Enough to make you feel like a caliph in
your own palace. This is how holidays should be!
POOL OR ORIENTAL
FEEL GOOD OASIS?
The view from the archways to the courtyard
is fantastic, and vice versa. Now it’s up to you
to decide where to spend your siesta. Do you
prefer a refreshing swim in the azure blue
outdoor pool and then dry yourself comfortably
on a lounger?
Or would you prefer our feel good oasis, with
its Oriental ambience, the Moroccan steam
bath, the dry sauna and the relaxation area
with heated loungers and ice fountain? The
choice is yours!
RICH MEDITERRANEAN CUISINE
ANDALUSIAN
STYLE
FROM OCTOPUS TO JAMÓN IBÉRICO
RESTAURANT
DON QUICHOTTE:
Miguel Cervantes’
‘Don Quichotte de la
Mancha’ was a satire on the
then popular stories of knights.
Our Spanish-inspired service
restaurant is not a parody,
but in fact a very
successful restaurant.
BAR EL CIRCO:
Open the curtains! The design
of the bar is reminiscent of a
colourful circus: with many
small, colourful lights, wooden
clowns and artist figures – even
the ceiling is designed to
resemble a circus tent.
RESTAURANT BODEGA:
Step into our bodega and
experience La Pura Vida.
‘La comelona’ means opulent meal - and there are plenty of those
in Andalusia. The dishes are a mixture of various cultural influences,
such as the legacy of Antiquity, the Moorish occupation and the
overseas trade.
Before the main course, diners often eat tapas. These are small
appetisers, often spicy and with plenty of garlic. In rural areas they
like to serve grilled Butifarra. In addition, meat dishes of Iberico or
Bellota pork are widespread, as well as aubergines and peppers
alongside vegetables and beans. On the coast, fish dishes are of
course the most common, and are often fried: from mussels to sepia
to prawns, all kinds of delicacies are served here. In the summer, light
cuisine dominates, for example, the popular cold vegetable soup
Gazpacho. Andalusia is known internationally for its paella varieties,
its air-dried Iberico ham, goat and sheep’s cheese, and its sherry.
Now it’s your turn: Try all the specialties in the Spanish service
restaurant Don Quichotte. The selection of dishes ranges from the
classic tapas to freshly grilled Carnes y Pescados, served with
Tinto at exactly the right temperature. Enjoy summer, sun
and Spanish-Iberian delicacies in the bodega, true to the
motto ‘Viva España’.
To finish off, why not treat yourself to a clever cocktail in
the El Circo bar – either under the ‘circus tent’ or on the
secluded patio in the courtyard in front of the illuminated
arcades of ‘El Andaluz’.
The noble and rustic rooms offer something for every taste: rustic wooden beds
CASTLE ROMANCE UNDER THE SPANISH FLAG
FOR BIG AND
SMALL KNIGHTS
BACK TO THE MEDIEVAL AGES AT THE ‘CASTILLO ALCAZAR’
Have you heard of El Cid? No? He was the son of a Castilian noble
and knight in the time of the Reconquista, the Christian reconquest
of the Iberian Peninsula. Because of his numerous adventures, he
became a Spanish national hero. He was praised for his successful
conquests.
A new adventure
behind every door:
The 4* castle hotel
‘Castillo Alcazar’
combines the
MYSTICAL
MEDIEVAL AGES
with the comfort of
today - with stylishly
decorated rooms and
many authentic details.
It is a shame that you cannot get to know the popular Caballero
anymore… but you can walk in his footsteps! Enjoy the mysticism
and dark secrets of a medieval castle combined with the most
modern comforts and all the amenities
of our time. The old Spanish Castillo
is enthroned above the Europa-Park
site, giving the Medieval Ages new
life. The 33-metre-high peaks tower
impressively in lofty heights. The polished
armours within the walls shines brightly, silent
ancient beams and hidden niches in the arches
speak of exciting stories of bygone times. Brave
knight contenders and sweet-loving noble ladies
must pay attention!
Even if the time seems to have stopped in the
‘Castillo Alcazar’ about 1,000 years ago, your time
travel has not been difficult so far. Here, castle romantics
under the Spanish flag are available to everyone.
32 33

RUSTIC,
BUT WITH COMFORT:
Authentic stone tiles, a decorative
coffered ceiling, massive wooden
doors with cast-iron handles,
arm-embroidered cushions and a
four-poster bed for sweet dreams -
all this is provided by the Presidential
Suite ‘Queen Isabel’.
KNIGHTLY PEOPLE
The 120 rooms and suites of the ‘Castillo Alcazar’ are spread over eight floors. From the
second to the eighth floor you can find standard, ‘standard plus’ and ‘comfort’ rooms.
‘Deluxe’ rooms and themed suites are located on the ninth floor, while the presidential
suites are located in the castle tower. Sleep is a truly knightly pleasure in all rooms.
34 35

SUITES
In a courtly ambience
THEMED SUITES
Up to four noblemen can be accommodated in a
themed suite. These are named after the American
explorer Christopher Columbus and the Spanish
Cardinal Mendoza. All themed suites have balconies
and minibars. The loving decoration gives the chambers
a noble, courtly touch.
PRESIDENTIAL SUITES
The two presidential suites sit sublimely in the castle
tower – each with a total of three rooms: a livingsleeping
room with double bed, another with bunk
beds and sofa, and the cosy tower room with double
bed. Of course, three rooms also mean three flatscreen
TVs, plus balcony and minibar.
ROOMS
Particularly knightly
STANDARD ROOMS /
‘STANDARD PLUS’ ROOMS
Telephone and desk, flat-screen TV, air conditioning
and free high-speed internet access are provided in
the standard rooms. All non-smoking, able to host one
to five people. The ‘Standard Plus’ rooms additionally
promise a beautiful view of Europa-Park.
‘COMFORT’ ROOMS
The ‘comfort’ rooms offer separate bedrooms with
double bed, second TV and separate toilet.
‘DELUXE’ ROOMS
Designed for two people, the ‘deluxe’ rooms
have a small balcony and a minibar.
TABLE PLEASURE
Tin tableware - pans, trowels and jugs - hang from the ceiling, large candles in
heavy chandeliers on the massive wooden tables provide eerily beautiful light,
the reddish stone floor and the dark wooden ceiling contribute to the chivalrous
rustic ambience. The buffet restaurant Castillo is a real treat!
Ages. Traditional dishes as an
expression of the southern way of life.
Juicy meat is prepared on the grill
according to an old gaucho recipe.
Mediterranean accompaniments and
homemade specialties complete
the culinary spectrum.
BAR BUENA VISTA CLUB:
Right at the top, on the ninth
floor, is the panorama bar.
Old wooden beams on the
ceiling, a knight’s armour, small
wooden horses, a Spanish monk
figure and various coats of
arms take you into a
historic-medieval ambience.
In the Medieval Ages – between the 6 th and 15 th centuries – there
was a great deal of difference between what ordinary people ate
and what was served up for dinner in a castle. For the nobles had
the right to hunt, therefore they were served plenty of meat such
as wild boar, venison, rabbit or pheasant. Similarly, fishing for
freshwater fish was reserved for the nobility. There were also
‘higher’ – harvested from the tree – fruits such as pears,
apples, cherries and figs.
In that era, sweet and salty foods were often eaten
together, such as meat dishes with braised apples or
casseroles made with meat combined with herbs
and dates. At large banquets, of course, sociability
also played a key role. The large round table was
host to eating, drinking, singing and hailing the
entertainment of jugglers.
Whether the knights’ armours still fit perfectly
after these extensive bouts is, however, not
known. But thankfully you don’t have to worry
about that anymore - you can feast as much
as your heart desires in our buffet restaurant. El
Cid and King Arthur would have been jealous if
they had seen the long, massive wooden tables
in the Castillo. Simply enjoy with all your senses!
Then take another drink with a panoramic view.
From the rooftop terrace of the Buena Vista Club bar
you have the perfect view of Europa-Park and the
neighbouring themed hotels. And the delicious cocktails
inspire noblemen and damsels alike.
ROYAL CHAMBERS + HEAVENLY MONASTERY ROMANCE
= PORTUGUESE SERENITY
Welcome to the monastery! A very special experience, because in ‘Santa Isabel’
you do not have to renounce worldly amenities in order to enjoy monastic
peace and serenity. You will be authentically received by blue-and-white azulejos
tiles and wood-paneled walls right behind the cloister gate. The sumptuously
decorated themed suites are similarly palatial, while the luxurious Sagrado suites
exceed even the highest standards. Afterwards, you will be pampered with
wellness treatments, high up at the panoramic spa on the fifth floor. Before dinner,
maybe take a short walk through the courtyard? Absolutely! Those who still
haven’t come in to rest can enjoy a glass of port in the armchair in front of the
open fire. At least now you can spell the word serenity in Portuguese: c-a-l-m-a.
CLOISTER ROMANCE
RELAX IN ‘SANTA ISABEL’
Did Saint Elizabeth of Portugal – the Santa Isabel – truly live so nobly
and luxuriously? Unfortunately, this is not known. What we do know,
however, is that the former Queen of Portugal and later Franciscan
nun had a big heart. And this warmth now fills the halls of our superior
themed hotel, which is named after the famous Santa Isabel.
ACCOMPANIED BY
CHORAL SONGS
AND THE SCENT
OF INCENSE:
At our reception,
a stylish monastery
gate, you not only get
your room key, but
also the key
to your holiday.
How does a day of absolute peace and total deceleration unfold at
the ‘monastery’? First, a stroll through the cloister. Followed by a brief
moment of devotion in the ‘Sankt Jakobus’ chapel. Then treat yourself
to some physical activity with a few rounds in the outdoor pool. After
all, wellness treatments pamper both your body and mind. At the
same time, our spa offers a feel-good trip for the whole family: such
as the body wrap for her, the massage for him and the
honey bee for the offspring.
Now you are ready to dedicate yourself to the culinary
arts! Enjoy traditional Iberian-Mediterranean cuisine in
the buffet restaurant and then toast the newly-won
serenity in the brewery cellar – with the homebrewed
Klosterbräu Santa Isabel.
You see, you do not have to become a monk or a
nun to enjoy monastic seclusion and Portuguese
moments of happiness in the ‘Santa Isabel’.
PEACEFUL Dreams
IN MONASTIC CALM
The hotel ‘Santa Isabel’ has only 66 rooms and suites, spread out over the four floors of the small
but elegant building. There are standard and ‘deluxe’ rooms, as well as individually-designed
themed and Sagrado suites. One of them is named, for example, after the Portuguese king
Manuel I, also known as ‘Manuel, the Fortunate’.
THE SAGRADO SUITE
KING MANUEL I.
presents itself in strong blue and
warm brown tones. Under the reign of
the fortunate king, Portugal experienced
an economic and cultural boom.
The magnificent architectural style of
Manueline is also named after Manuel I.
SUITES
Discover new worlds
THEMED SUITES
The themed suites follow in the footsteps of glorious
Portuguese sailors. Embark, for example, on a trip
with Vasco da Gama, the explorer of the sea route to
India, or the circumnavigator Fernando Magellan. Our
themed suites comfortably accommodate up to four
guests. A bedroom with double bed, a living-sleeping
room with bunk beds and couch, two flat-screen TVs,
bathroom with bath / shower, balcony and minibar –
what more could you ask for?
SAGRADO SUITES
Queen Santa Isabel, King Manuel I. and a Prior, a
monastery headmaster, will be happy to tell you about
their eventful lives when you stay in one of the suites
named after them. Very spacious, these suites promise
a lot of luxury with many lovely royal and highly
monastic interior details.
ROOMS
Simplicity paired with luxury
STANDARD ROOMS
A far cry from Spartan monastic cells are our
airconditioned standard rooms: They offer a
telephone, safe and desk, free high-speed internet
access and a flat-screen TV; most of the rooms
also have an open bathroom area. The room sizes
range from one to six people. Sage expressions
and images of saints on the walls give the rooms a
particularly contemplative atmosphere.
‘DELUXE’ ROOMS
Located on the fourth floor, ‘deluxe’ rooms offer
chilled drinks from the minibar. It is with this that
monastic simplicity unites with modern luxury.
MONASTIC RELAXATION
HEAL FOR A WHILE
HERBS, BEER AND HEAVENLY POWERS
WELLNESS & SPA:
Back, full body and hot
stone massages with
high quality oils give you new
strength, scrubs and wraps
refresh your body, luxurious
baths and various body rituals
bring your life energies into flux.
POOL AND SAUNA:
With a few powerful
strokes, you can swim from
indoors into the spacious
outdoor pool. Heavenly
pleasures await you in the
sauna area ‘Conspectus Gallia’
and the quiet room ‘Astrum
Aurea’ with its starry ceiling.
What does a monastery have to do with wellness? Far more than
you think! After all, monks and nuns are often experts in herbal
medicine who know a lot about the relationship of a healthy and
beautiful body with a relaxed mind.
Take, for example, a precious milk bath: Men and women alike
enjoy the genuine natural product as a moisturizing additive that
softens the skin.
Pure life energy flows through you in treatments such as
‘Soulmates’, in which you are pampered for two hours. As any
monk or nun will tell you, time is important for wellness and
relaxation, so you should just sit back and take all the time you
need to recuperate.
Our sauna area is heavenly: with the hand-painted star firmament
in the vaulted ceiling of the relaxation room for example. And in the
blue stone bath, you can recharge your batteries and then sweat in
the dry sauna – with a view of the Vosges mountains. Is it earthly or
heavenly? In any case, divine!
PORTUGUESE SPECIALTIES
SIMPLE
& DELICIOUS
DRIED FISH, GOATMEAT AND SWEET RICE
RESTAURANT
SALA SANTA ISABEL:
A tasteful detail of the
specialty restaurant is the
apothecary wall, because
against every ache, a herb
has grown - even against
hunger and overeating. For
risks and side effects, you ask
best your ‘service monk’.
RESTAURANT
BEER CELLAR:
It was particularly hard to
be a monk or nun during
Lent, when they weren’t
allowed to eat from sunrise
to sunset. However, rest
assured that no one will have
to go hungry at the vaulted
monastery cellar, a
full-service restaurant
with international cuisine.
The Portuguese love home cooking: the food should be down-to-earth
and nutritious, but just as interestingly flavoured, for example with
garlic, coriander, nutmeg, oregano, thyme, laurel or the small red chilli
pepper Piri-Piri.
The national dish of Portugal is the Bacalhau, a salted and dried
cod, for which there are innumerable methods of preparation. It has
been popular since the time of the great seafarers of the 15 th and 16 th
centuries, when explorers would take the preserved fish with them
on their travels. Other types of fish and seafood feature strongly
in Portuguese cuisine, such as shrimp, marlin, scallops and tuna.
However, meat lovers will also get their money’s worth with beef and
lamb dishes and dishes from Iberico pork and fresh poultry.
And what is there for dessert? Delicious home-made sweat treats, from
almond cake to ‘pudim caseiro’, an egg pudding with caramel sauce, or
selected Spanish and Portuguese cheese specialties.
In our buffet restaurant Sala Santa Isabel you can taste everything that
appeals to you. The feast is accompanied by fresh ‘Vinho Verde’ or
other fine wines from our richly filled wine cellar. Finally, try our
home-made herbal liqueur ‘Apotheke’ as a digestive. Bom apetite!
the fountains offers refreshing coolness. This is truly ‘La dolce vita’. Before your
Pulled enough laps?
When it gets cooler in
the evening, a Venus
steam bath and Roman
sauna ‘Pompeii’ await.
Venus was the Roman goddess of love and beauty. Her charm was
worshipped in many ways: for the painters of the Renaissance,
the mythological Venus, for example, was a popular motif for nude
portraits. And even a weekday, the Friday – in Italian ‘venerdi’ –
was named after the attractive deity.
This, of course, does not mean that you can only devote yourself to
your beauty on Fridays. The Wellness & Spa ‘Colosseo’ offers
colossal feel-good ambience every day. Experience Venus’
beauty tips, such as the ‘Wellness Flirt’ with back massage,
aromatic foot wrap, a wellness facial treatment, a foot and
calf massage or the sea-salt scrub for a soft skin.
We also offer an ‘all-round relaxation package’ for all needs:
well-being massages with hot stones, flavours and shea butter,
bath treatments alone or in pairs, as well as beauty treatments
for every problem zone.
And then you get fit with some swimming in the pool or
sessions in the steam bath and sauna. Even the ancient
Romans knew about the positive effects of steaming heat.
Alternatively, start a bike or Nordic walking tour through the
idyllic Rhine Valley. Visit reception, where you can rent poles
or bicycles and get tour suggestions and then away we
go - because sports and sweat are healthy and bring out
beauty. If you then stroll across the piazza in front of the
You can enjoy a fruity cocktail at the bar, discussing maritime manoeuvres as you
TO THE BIRTHPLACE OF THE USA
ON THE FOOTSTEPS
OF THE PILGRIMS
EMIGRATE TO NEW ENGLAND IN THE ‘BELL ROCK’
The Pilgrim Fathers were the first English settlers on the Northeast coast
of the United States. In 1620, they sailed from middle England on the
‘Mayflower’ across the Atlantic, where they founded the settlement of
Plymouth in today’s Massachusetts. Although the so-called Pilgrims were
not the very first settlers in the later US state territory, they played
a prominent role as pioneers of American folklore.
After you stepped
through the imposing
entrance pillars,
LOBBY AND
RECEPTION will
be just as impressive:
fine wood panelling,
large stone tiles, and a
sweeping, manorial-style
staircase that will show
you the way up to the
rooms and suites.
An exciting time, right? Would you like to have visited?
You can! At least, you can follow in the footsteps of
the Pilgrim Fathers. A stay at ‘Bell Rock’ is like an
expedition to the American Northeast coast of the
17 th and 18 th centuries.
Sleep like an English Lord in the soft beds of
our maritime-inspired suites. Enjoy the best
Midwestern steaks, Black Angus steak tartare,
Maine lobster and Tartar tuna.
Ammolite – The Lighthouse Restaurant, the exclusive
fine dining restaurant in the lighthouse, is even more
sophisticated. Since November 2014, it has held two
Michelin stars. In the afternoon, head to the Spirit of
St. Louis bar to enjoy classic teatime with delicacies
from our own patisserie and continue with cool
drinks in the evening with live music.
What seafarers and pilgrims celebrated a few
hundred years ago, we have revived in the
‘Bell Rock’: true to style and yet interpreted
in a contemporary way. The birthplace of the
United States – just around the corner.
‘AHOI HEIMAT’ BY STEFAN STRUMBEL
The Lighthouse Suite ‘Ahoi Heimat’ (‘Ahoi Home’) is
very unusual: all in white, with contemporary extras
designed by the Black Forest artist Stefan Strumbel.
JOHN F. KENNEDY
With a perfect all-round view – and at the very top of
the lighthouse – the two-story John F. Kennedy Suite
impresses. Hard to beat in terms of comfort, it features
a sauna and a whirlpool in addition to the usual
Lighthouse Suite amenities. JFK would have felt very
comfortable here too.
PRESIDENTIAL SUITES
Luxury across two floors
The spacious presidential suites extend over two
floors. A total of twelve of them are located in the
‘Bell Rock’, distributed over the hotel buildings
Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
A ship staircase connects the lower bedroom with
box spring double bed with the upper bedroom. There
is also a living room with bunk beds, two bathrooms,
two separate toilets and a minibar. The dark floorboards
are reminiscent of ship planks. The dominant
colours are white and blue, the colour of
the ocean. Ship ahoy!
PENTHOUSE SUITES
The penthouse suites on the third floor are particularly
exclusive. The two en-suite bedrooms with double
soft box-spring beds guarantee sweet dreams. You
can also wallow in a hot bath.
THEMED SUITES
Our themed suites will take you on a trip around the
and are designed down to the smallest detail in Asian,
African, Indian, Latin American or Oriental style. You
can sleep in snug box-spring beds and there are two
flat-screen TVs and a mini-bar.
ROOMS
For sailors and captains
STANDARD ROOMS
Off to the bunks, but the luxury version!
The air-conditioned standard rooms are far from
reminiscent of the narrow crew quarters aboard a sailing
ship. They offer ample space with a spacious bathroom,
telephone, safe and desk, a flat-screen TV and a lot
of maritime flair. The room sizes range from one
to six people.
‘COMFORT’ ROOMS
The ‘comfort’ rooms also have a balcony or terrace.
Here too a maximum of six guests can spend the night.
awaits you on the ground floor of
2014 it has held two Michelin
stars – as the only restaurant in a
theme park in the world.
Among other things, the six New England states share their common
culinary heritage. In addition to their culture, the first Puritan
settlers from England brought their food and drinks to the North
American coast.
Five of the six New England states have direct access
to the Atlantic. No wonder that fish such as cod and
salmon, as well as other seafood, are an important
part of New England’s cuisine. Above all, however, lobster
is available in an abundance and size rarely encountered
elsewhere. Clam chowder, a thick shell fish soup, is also
popular.
Inland, on the other hand, is characterised by
rolling hills and rustic farms. From here come
specialties such as maple syrup, cranberries
and the fermented apple cider.
You can satisfy both hunger
and thirst at the colonial
THE MUSEUM-HOTEL
A LEGENDARY EXHIBITION
+ SCANDINAVIAN MOMENTS OF PLEASURE
= THE SPECIAL NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
Opposite Europa-Park’s water world, you can experience the mystical history of
Rulantica up close, because hotel ‘Krønasår’ is a hotel and a museum at the
same time. In 2017, Scandinavian fishermen discovered parts of the once sunken
TreKronor. It is said that the expedition ship was on its way to unlock the mystery
of the legendary island of Rulantica. The relics and artefacts, which have since
been recovered from the site, can now be admired for the first time in the hotel
‘Krønasår’. Let yourself be carried away to a time when sea people and giant
snakes shaped the lives of sailors and the inhabitants of the island and book your
ticket to this journey through time.
THE ADVENTURE CLUB OF EUROPE INVITES ALL
ADVENTURERS
AND EXPLORERS
TO A UNIQUE EXPEDITION
Is it a museum or a hotel? Where do the many artefacts come from?
What is reality and what sailor’s yarn? Answers to all these questions
can be found during your stay at ‘Krønasår – The Museum-Hotel’.
True to the statute of the Adventure Club of Europe, its scientists and
historians have once again delved thoroughly to the bottom
of the matter.
What has been
described in numerous
legends as a snake-like
monster hangs today,
life-size, in our lobby –
SVALGUR
It all started with a find in the nets of a Swedish fisherman. The
wreckage clearly comes from the expedition ship TreKronor, which
once pierced the Norwegian Sea to find the fabled island of Rulantica.
Because unlike Atlantis, Rulantica was supposedly not drowned, but
shrouded in a dense fog for as long as anyone can remember. Hardly
anyone venturing into the dense white ever came out again. The few
who succeeded were all confused and reported about sea monsters
and sea people.
With the support of Europa-Park, all the records and artefacts were
carefully compiled, catalogued and made available to the public
here in their entirety for the first time at the museum hotel. So the
best thing to do is buy a museum ticket quickly and book your stay at
the hotel ‘Krønasår’. Right across from its colourful facade you can
experience the water world Rulantica as it takes all adventurous
explorers into the cool water.
You enjoy the time together with friends and family. This always includes
good food and drink. It is best to sit at the table for several hours and talk by
candlelight about the big and small things in life. It is not about what we have,
but about what we experience together. This feeling, which certainly contributes
to why the Danes are often referred to as one of the happiest peoples in
the world, can now be experienced with us. Relaxed, casual, with much love
and passion. With a very personal touch that distinguishes our kitchen and the
entire service team.
during a swim in the refreshing natural lake, in the Silver Lake Saloon, at a
You can sleep at the
Camp Resort in log
cabins, tepees and
covered wagons,
including the
romantic WINNETOU
HONEYMOON SUITE
with bearskin and
electric campfire.
In his novels, Karl May described the adventures of Winnetou and
his blood brother, Old Shatterhand. Children and adults devoured his
stories – and no doubt dreamed up adventures of their own in the Wild
West. At the Camp Resort these dreams come true. You can sleep in
log cabins, tepees, covered wagons or in your own mobile home and
experience wilderness, adventure and freedom! How about a campfire
under the open skies? We will provide you with a site and with
firewood – and we can also deliver steaks, sausages or salads
as requested.
The next day, when the prairie sun is burning again, you can go to
the natural lake surrounded by an extensive sunbathing area. For the
more energetic ones, tennis courts, badminton and beach volleyball
fields are waiting for you, as well as bull riding. Action packed Native
American shows are also staged on selected dates during the high
season. And children and the young at heart can experience a
veritable gold rush at our gold-panning site (for a fee).
There are also plenty of experiences around the camp
for groups, school classes and clubs. For example
the Taubergiessen nature reserve on
the Southern upper Rhine, a bike tour
through the Rhine wetlands, Freiburg,
Strasbourg and the Black Forest.
So, saddle up and off you go!
CAMPING
Great freedom on wheels
Those who prefer to sleep in their ‘own home’
will find their happiness on our campsite with 300
pitches for caravans and mobile homes as well as
tent sites on a meadow. Only five minutes’ walk
from Europa-Park, the area features modern sanitary
facilities, Western kiosk with bread service, water
and electricity connections, tennis courts, children’s
playground and even an idyllic swimming lake.
LOG CABINS
Trunk on trunk
Eight cosy and heated log cabins await guests on the
banks of the Birkensee lake. The logs are piled up to
rooms of different sizes: for four, six, twelve or sixteen
occupants, not to mention the modern sanitary facilities
in a separate building. Don’t forget your sleeping bag
and towel; fitted sheets and a small pillow are provided.
And for all the outdoor feel, you can still enjoy the
convenience of lighting and WiFi!
COVERED WAGONS
Wild West inclusive
Thirteen covered wagons, each with room for four
adventure-loving travellers, offer the perfect accommodation
for the night. The horses have already been
unharnessed. All wagons have two bunk beds and a
cupboard for a small amount of luggage. Three of the
wagons have a wooden roof instead of canvas. Heating,
light, power and WiFi are provided; remember to bring a
sleeping bag and towel.
TEPEE TENTS
Modern with electricity
Not only are the tepee tents named after legends from
the Wild West, guests quickly feel like Winnetou and
Apanatschi themselves. The space available ranges
from 4-person tents to 6-person and 12-person tents.
The mattresses have fitted sheets and there is also a
small pillow. Don’t forget to pack your sleeping bag and
towels in your saddlebag. The tepees are heated, have
a power outlet, electric light and WiFi. Modern sanitary
‘Vikingløp’, or on ‘Vinter Rytt’ in the tubes up the
halfpipe – the wide range of slides will leave nothing
to be desired. You may also be tempted by the wild
river ‘Vildstrøm’ and the wave pool ‘Surf Fjørd’. For
relaxation, take a leisurely ride in a tube through the
water world in ‘Snorri’s Saga’ or visit the swim-up
bars in the indoor and outdoor pools.
Rulantica is a dreamful holiday destination, no
matter the season. During the summer months, the
Nordic outdoor world of slides ‘Svalgurok’ and the
adjoining ‘Snorri Strand’ offer even more sliding and
water fun. And when it gets colder, the exclusive
quiet and sauna area ‘Hyggedal’* lure you in with
tons of relaxation and cosiness. *optionally bookable
TODAY AT HOME,
TOMORROW THE WORLD
THE EUROPA-PARK HOTEL WORLD AT A GLANCE
‘From Germany via Europe to the whole wide world’ – that would be a fitting motto for our themed hotel and camping
landscape. Beyond the main entrance lies the Wild West in the Camp Resort. On the other side of Europa-Park you
can find the Spanish worlds of the themed hotels ‘El Andaluz’ and ‘Castillo Alcazar’ as well as the Portuguese heaven
of well-being, the ‘Santa Isabel’. Just a few steps away, Italian air abounds at the hotel ‘Colosseo’, and finally, a bridge
leads you straight to New England and the hotel ‘Bell Rock’. Hard to believe, but all this awaits you practically on your
doorstep. Conquer the world – and turn it into your new (holiday) home!
The ‘Krønasår – The Museum-Hotel’ is a short distance away and connected to the other hotels and Europa-Park by a
comfortable shuttle. And in its vicinity, the water world Rulantica, the restaurant world-first Eatrenalin and the VR
experience centre YULLBE offer plenty of unforgettable adventures for the whole family.
