General Information<br />

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS<br />

This course is designed to update physicians practicing in gastroenterology and<br />

hepatology and other health care providers on new approaches to the diagnosis and<br />

management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. Faculty will present data on multiple<br />

topics, including inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, general GI, motility<br />

and nutrition, pancreaticobiliary disorders, endoscopy and hepatology. Controversies in<br />

diagnosis and management will be analyzed in discussions. Complex endoscopy cases and<br />

cutting-edge technology will be presented by expert endoscopists in a video forum.<br />

Twitter will be utilized for interactive learning by the participants.<br />

COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES<br />

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:<br />

• Discuss the role of selected advanced endoscopic procedures in patient care.<br />

• Identify controversies in the management of patients with various gastroenterological<br />

disorders.<br />

• Define the role of newer antiviral medications in the treatment of viral hepatitis.<br />

• Compare and contrast the various treatment options available for patients with<br />

inflammatory bowel disease.<br />

INTENDED AUDIENCE<br />

This course is designed for practicing gastroenterologists, surgeons, GI fellows, physician<br />

assistants, nurse practitioners, individuals specializing in gastrointestinal endoscopy and<br />

primary care physicians with an interest in gastroenterology.<br />
