Introduction<br />
<strong>City</strong> & <strong>Guilds</strong>’ Certificate in <strong>ESOL</strong> for Work has been designed to meet the needs of<br />
migrant workers and others needing a flexible and job-focused <strong>ESOL</strong> qualification.<br />
Sitting alongside <strong>ESOL</strong> Skills for Life, centres and candidates can now choose the right<br />
qualification to meet their varying circumstances and English language needs.<br />
All of our literacy, language and numeracy qualifications offer maximum flexibility,<br />
allowing your centre to be in complete control of delivery and assessment whilst<br />
focussing on real skills for real situations.<br />
Certificate in <strong>ESOL</strong> for Work (<strong>3694</strong>)<br />
<strong>ESOL</strong> for Work is designed specifically to help people in or seeking employment in the<br />
UK. The qualification concentrates on language for the workplace, drawing on relevant<br />
aspects of the Adult <strong>ESOL</strong> core curriculum to help non-native English speakers work<br />
successfully and safely.<br />
The assessment criteria set out the required linguistic skills although the delivery can be<br />
tailored to any work context or setting. <strong>ESOL</strong> for Work is currently available at Entry 3 and<br />
Level 1, although more levels may be added later.<br />
