3. Impacts on the wildlife corridor would be mitigated<br />

through the implementation of BMPs and<br />

mitigation measures that would allow animal<br />

movement across the tactical infrastructure.<br />

Mitigation measures could include purchasing<br />

additional land to become part of the wildlife<br />

corridor system.<br />

The Biological Survey Report, Appendix D of the ESP,<br />

has since been updated. Additional survey data has<br />

been included.<br />

1. Measures to avoid adverse effects are being<br />

incorporated to the extent practicable. Extensive<br />

cultural surveys have been conducted and <strong>CBP</strong> is<br />

continuing coordination with the Texas SHPO<br />

(Texas Historical Commission) and other parties.<br />

USDOI 2. Rancho de Carricitos is located north of US 281;<br />

Camp Belknap lies along the coast east of<br />

Brownsville and is likely the 1846 Army camp<br />

referred to in the comment. Neither of these are<br />

impacted by the project.<br />
