Board Notes
Fall quote by Sylvester Vasquez, Jr., Vice President
Due to new legislation in 2006, school districts are
now required to hold elections jointly with a city or
county general election. In order to maintain three-year
terms with annual elections, the Board of Trustees
approved a resolution in October to provide for Trustee
elections in conjunction with Lytle general elections.
These general elections are held in May, which necessitated
the exension of current Board Member terms by
six months.
Southwest ISD will hold the election for the Board of
Trustees on May 10, 2008 jointly with the City of Lytle
general elections. The District will continue to
contract with Bexar County to run the election
which will be held at the usual polling places.
