District Science Fair Produces Young Scientists<br />
The annual District Science Fair was hosted by Sun Valley Elementary and coordinated by Gina Fernandez. Two representatives<br />
from each grade level at each of the nine elementaries displayed their projects and answered questions posed by the<br />
judges. Winners in each division included:<br />

New OASIS Program Opens<br />
The Overage Student Intervention Site<br />
opened with 30 students enrolled in November.<br />
The program serves students who<br />
are two years older than their peers and<br />
academically behind, but possess the potential<br />
to benefit from intense academic acceleration.<br />
The program will prepare students<br />
to enter high school on or above<br />
grade level. The program consists of intense<br />
reading instruction, along with<br />
math, science, social studies, and writing<br />
instruction.
