<strong>APLD</strong> member Monique Allen, CLD, MCLP, is <strong>the</strong> CEO & Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal Designer <strong>of</strong> The Garden Cont<strong>in</strong>uum. The Garden<br />
Cont<strong>in</strong>uum received four awards <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> fall <strong>of</strong> 2009 for <strong>the</strong>ir work on one residential property and one commercial<br />
property. Both properties showcase <strong>the</strong>ir plant<strong>in</strong>g design as well as some hardscape design, but <strong>the</strong> awards were given<br />
for <strong>the</strong>ir on-go<strong>in</strong>g care <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se planted spaces. Allen believes that design follows <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> long term care <strong>of</strong> plants so<br />
that <strong>the</strong> design vision will mature as <strong>the</strong> plants do. A keen understand<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> plant growth and management as well as<br />
soil health and stability applied to tend<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> garden and <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>tended design allows <strong>the</strong> space to evolve and survive<br />
beautifully. Here’s <strong>the</strong> l<strong>in</strong>k to check out <strong>the</strong> PLANET and PGMS sites with full award details and images:<br />
