Athlete Training Guidelines Gym rules: All athletes must wait in the designated waiting area until called to the training area by their coach. Do not walk through other classes or distract other classes upon arrival Do not touch any gym equipment unless supervised by your coach No food or drink other than water is to be consumed during class No chewing gum is allowed during class No rubbish is to be left in the training area Do not leave belongings lying around the gym; put them straight in your bag in designated area. Mobile phones must be switched off or on silent during practice General guidelines Ensure that you come to every session so you don’t miss out! Cheerleading is a team sport and every member is valuable! For competitive athletes training is MANDATORY - If sick or injured, athletes must still attend and an alternative program will be given. For FULL and ELITE competitive athletes that do not turn up to training without explanation, a phone call will be made to parents. Arrive on time Place cheer bags, poms, drink bottles on shelves in training area Show full respect to your coach and other squad members at all times Do not talk while your coach is talking. Listening to instructions is imperative for good team work. Ask your coach if you need to leave the training area to use the toilet or have a drink Encourage good team work and good spirit at practice Inform your coach of any illness or injury prior to commencement of practice Always give 100% Have fun! Training requirements: Wear training uniform (shorts/t-top) Cheer shoes (recommended to wear alternative shoes to training and put cheer shoes on upon arrival in order to maintain cleanliness) Bring Poms to POM training Bring a drink bottle with water only Remove all jewellery prior to arriving Ensure nails are trimmed for safety in stunting Hair must be tied back or clipped back away from face - 10 -
Performance Guidelines Uniform: F2C Training Shorts and Top for recreational athletes and F2C Competition Uniform for competitive athletes. F2C Jacket over your uniform for arrival. Tan/white underwear must be worn under shorties. These should not be seen. Tan/white supportive bra or crop top must be worn. No straps are to be seen. White ankle socks and white cheer shoes. Tights/stockings are not permitted. F2C Cheer bag should be brought to all performances. Hair: Neat Ponytail on top of crown with all hair pulled straight back. Straightened hair gives a neater look. Fringe must be pinned/gelled back or pinned to the side. No hair or “wispy” bits are to be seen on face. Secure with hair elastic and F2C cheer bow. (This should be seen from the front – so make sure your ponytail is high enough!) Make-up: Natural make-up with a little blush. Lips should be red-brown with gloss over top (bright lips give BIGGER smiles!) General guidelines: Arrive at venue on time Arrive in full uniform Arrive with your hair and make-up completely done Do NOT wear or bring any jewellery Ensure your nails are trimmed below the fingertips Inform your coach of your arrival and do not leave without informing your coach. These Rules & Guidelines are for YOUR safety. For breeches of these Rules & Guidelines, warnings will be given. However, continuous failure to adhere to these rules may result in suspension in participation or withdrawal from the team. - 11 -
