Small but growing, State's dynamic Alumni
Association this year moved closer to its goal of
100 per cent membership, a strong program of
scholarships, active portrcipotion in campus life
and establishment of permanent Alumni Association
headquarters.
The Alumni Association, well known and
very active before the war, become non-octlve
during the period of conflict. In November, 1945,
under the leadership of Borney Carmon, the
Association was completely reorganized. Cor·
man became the first post-war president, followed
by Mrs. Wi lllcm E. Self (Jean Carmody
'42), Robert Breitbord, '41, Joseph Suozzo, '43,
Byron Lindsley, '37, and now Gordon Wiggins,
'36.
The list of activities has steadily grown year
by year. The Alumni News has been published
monthly since 1946. An Alumni office has been
maintained on campus with 0 port-time, poid
assistant keeping financial and membership
records.
The Association has sponsored at hie tic
events, lettermen's reunions, secured first choice
of season tickets for members, instigated the formotion
of the Aztec Athletic' Angelsisp0l"'lsored
an annual stage production and an Alumni show,
the "Adobe Follies." "
Members take an active pOrt in the Annual
