Small but growing, State's dynamic Alumni<br />

Association this year moved closer to its goal of<br />

100 per cent membership, a strong program of<br />

scholarships, active portrcipotion in campus life<br />

and establishment of permanent Alumni Association<br />

headquarters.<br />

The Alumni Association, well known and<br />

very active before the war, become non-octlve<br />

during the period of conflict. In November, 1945,<br />

under the leadership of Borney Carmon, the<br />

Association was completely reorganized. Cor·<br />

man became the first post-war president, followed<br />

by Mrs. Wi lllcm E. Self (Jean Carmody<br />

'42), Robert Breitbord, '41, Joseph Suozzo, '43,<br />

Byron Lindsley, '37, and now Gordon Wiggins,<br />

'36.<br />

The list of activities has steadily grown year<br />

by year. The Alumni News has been published<br />

monthly since 1946. An Alumni office has been<br />

maintained on campus with 0 port-time, poid<br />

assistant keeping financial and membership<br />

records.<br />

The Association has sponsored at hie tic<br />

events, lettermen's reunions, secured first choice<br />

of season tickets for members, instigated the formotion<br />

of the Aztec Athletic' Angelsisp0l"'lsored<br />

an annual stage production and an Alumni show,<br />

the "Adobe Follies." "<br />

Members take an active pOrt in the Annual<br />

Homecoming Day programjnc)uding sponsorship<br />

Donee and the porade of floats. The Alumni<br />
