Closed Access Summer Playschemes are<br />
offered by Cwmbran Community Council and are registered<br />
with CSSIW to provide childcare <strong>for</strong> 4-11 year olds <strong>for</strong><br />
approximately the length of a <strong>school</strong> day. Children must be<br />
booked <strong>in</strong>to the playscheme and they are not allowed to leave<br />
the premises. There is a small annual registration fee to pay.<br />

off your child at some closed access playschemes and pick<br />
up aga<strong>in</strong> afterwards to extend the childcare session per day.<br />

What is ‘registered childcare’?<br />
Anyone <strong>in</strong> Wales who provides childcare <strong>for</strong> <strong>children</strong><br />
under the age of 8 <strong>for</strong> more than 2 hours a day<br />
<strong>for</strong> reward must be registered with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales<br />
(CSSIW). For over 8 year olds, the advantages of us<strong>in</strong>g a registered childcare provider<br />
<strong>in</strong>clude that parents/carers may be eligible <strong>for</strong> help towards the cost of that childcare<br />
through tax credits or childcare vouchers.<br />
What will my child do?<br />
You can be confident that your child is safe and looked after by professional childcare<br />
providers who ensure that <strong>children</strong> are offered a variety of activities. Children <strong>in</strong><br />
holiday childcare can take part <strong>in</strong> outdoor as well as <strong>in</strong>door activities and have the<br />
chance to meet other <strong>children</strong>.
