Pat Mills got his start in the industry as an actor on the<br />

series ‘You Can’t Do That on Television’ (Nickelodeon/<br />

YTV). He received his training at Ryerson University<br />

where he was the recipient of the Norman Jewison<br />

Filmmaker Award and City TV Best Film Award for<br />

his short comedy ‘The Affected Turtleneck Trio’. Short<br />

films include Babysitting Andy (distributed by Wolfe<br />

Video on “He Likes Guys”/”She Likes Girls” Short film<br />

compilations), Marjorie (an NSI Drama Prize,) ‘Pat’s<br />

First Kiss’ (TIFF Talent Lab Short), and ‘5 Dysfunctional<br />

People in a Car’ (Bravo!FACT).<br />

Pat was accepted into the NSI’s Totally Television program<br />

and the WGC-CTV Diverse Screenwriters Program<br />

for his teen series ‘Amnesia Girl’, which ended<br />

up going into development with CTV, Canada’s largest<br />

network. He was also a 2011 CTV Fellow at the Banff<br />

World Media Festival. Pat was invited to participate<br />

in the inaugural NSI/Movie Central “Script to Screen”<br />

program with his time travel comedy ‘Here I Go Again’.<br />

The project will spend a year going from treatment to a<br />

fully formed script ready for packaging.<br />

In <strong>September</strong> 2008, Pat was named winner of the Toronto<br />

International Film Festival’s Pitch This! Competition<br />

for ‘Don’t Talk to Irene’, which has received development<br />

support from Telefilm, Corus and the Harold<br />

Greenberg Fund. The project took part in the 2013<br />

CFC Telefilm Canada Feature Comedy Exchange,<br />

where the script was mentored by Kirsten Smith (‘Legally<br />

Blonde’, ‘The House Bunny’). The screenplay<br />

just won best comedy screenplay at the 2013 Austin<br />

Screenplay Competition.<br />

Pat just completed principal photography of his first<br />

feature, the dark comedy, ‘Guidance’, produced by<br />

Edyson Entertainment and funded by Telefilm Canada.<br />

It will be released in <strong>2014</strong>.
