Welcome your guests to an old-world
charm with this pair of elegant,
topiary-style floral arrangements.
They are the perfect coordinated
accents for an inviting veranda or
entryway. What a grand design!
Peonies and Pheasants
We chose an ornate urn with a Tuscan
appeal. The bottom of the urn was filled
with one layer of floral bricks. Secure
with hot glue and continue stacking
bricks until you reach the desired
height of arrangement.
For extra stability, insert dowel rods down
into the bricks, then use a foam cutter to
carve a basic cone shape.
Next, working in rows from the bottom
to top, insert creamy peonies, chic feather
balls and deep red peonies.
Finally, finish with a dramatic
flourish of wispy prairie grass and
bold pheasant feathers.
Cattails and Wisteria
We followed the same basic instructions
from above for this piece, but gave this
arrangement its own personality. A taller
urn with an antiqued finish was chosen.
We used clusters of white wisteria and
dramatic, black feathers along the rim to
distinguish the look, and added stunning
red cattails to the mix for a pop of color.
The result is a stunning arrangement
that can easily stand alone, yet functions
beautifully as part of our coordinated duo.
