GETTING STARTED
Set up your PSP ® (PlayStation ® Portable) system according to the
instructions in the manual supplied with the system. Turn the system
on. The power indicator lights up in green and the home menu is
displayed. Press the OPEN latch to open the disc cover. INSERT
LEGO ® Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game disc with the label
facing away from the system, slide until fully inserted and close the
disc cover. From the PSP ® system’s home menu, select the Game icon
and then the UMD icon.
A thumbnail for the software is displayed. Select the thumbnail and
press the S button of the PSP ® system to start the software. Follow
the on-screen instructions and refer to this manual for information
on using the software.
NOTICE: Do not eject a UMD ® while it is playing.
Memory Stick Duo
Warning! Keep Memory Stick Duo media out of reach of small children, as the
media could be swallowed by accident.
To save game settings and progress, insert a Memory Stick Duo into
the memory stick slot of your PSP ® system. You can load saved game
data from the same memory stick or any Memory Stick Duo containing
previously saved games.

Character Swapping
A savvy captain knows a busy crew is a happy crew. Switch
between characters to take advantage of each one’s special
abilities. To swap, tap the L or R Button.
Shooting
Some pirates wield pistols or blunderbusses. To aim such
a weapon, press and hold the D Button to activate the
targeting dot. Move the dot over your target with the
Directional Buttons/Analog Stick, and release the
D Button to fire.
Swimming
After taking the plunge, press the A Button to
dive deeper and the S Button to swim back toward
the surface.
Note: The game automatically saves your progress during play.

Welcome to the world of LEGO® Pirates of the
Caribbean The Video Game! You’re about to embark on
an epic adventure that brings the Pirates of the Caribbean
world and all of its colorful characters to life in LEGO
Brick form. You’ll step into the boots of Captain Jack
Sparrow (a legend in his own mind!) and experience
the memorable scenes from all four of the films in the
humorous and quirky LEGO Gideo Games style. Are you
pirate enough? Are you LEGO Pirate enough?
The Port is the hub of your game world where waters are
calm. From here you venture to sea, first aboard Captain
Sparrow’s Black Pearl and eventually Blackbeard’s Queen
Anne’s Revenge.
Story Mode
Jump aboard Story Mode to follow the course set by
Captain Jack Sparrow through all four Pirates movies.
Free Play
After you’ve complete a level in Story Mode, you can
replay it here. Captain your crew well and claim cleverly
hidden Ship Bottles and LEGO Studs.
New Game
Start a new game and select a save slot.
Load Game
Select a saved game to play.
Continue
Continue from the last accessed save game.
Options
Adjust Music and Special Effects Volume, choose a game
Language, or view the Credits.
Souvenir Shop – Have a word with the Innkeeper at
the Inn to visit the Shop. Spend your loot on unlocked
characters for use in Free Play, or buy Hints, or Red Brick
Extras and watch unlocked cut scenes. Or, peer into the
Mini-Kit viewer and have a stare at Mini-Kit models you
have pirated so far.
Character Customizer
Visit the Character Customizer to create a character to use
in Free Play mode with a selection of LEGO Studs you
have unlocked.

LEGO Studs – LEGO Studs are scattered throughout
LEGO® Pirates of the Caribbean The Video Game.
Collect them and spend them later in the Souvenir Shop.
If you collect enough LEGO Studs in a level you’ll be
awarded the title of True Pirate.
Red Bricks – Red Bricks unlock special extras, such
as stud multipliers and special abilities, which you can
purchase in the Shop. To activate a Red Brick during
gameplay, open the Pause Menu and select Extras.
Character Tokens – These are precious indeed, as each
unlocks additional crew you purchase in the Shop. Once
purchased, new characters join your crew in Free Play.
Ship Bottles – There are 10 Ship Bottles to collect in
each level. Eight Bottles are hidden for you to find, and
two more Bottles are given to you as
rewards for achieving True Pirate in
Story and Free Play modes.
