White pure acrylic sealant coating for extremely
low temperatures up to -40°C
High flexibility of film
Renwable
Extreme Low Temp (-40°C) Roof Coating
Product Type:
White pure acrylic sealant coating for extremely low
temperatures up to -40°C.
Suggested uses:
sealing of flat roofs. Excellent adhesion to a wide
range of surfaces such as exposed concrete, asbestos
boards, non-treated wood and galvanized steel.
Surfaces such as modified bitumen and Polyurethane
foam require a specific primer (Please contact Serafon
for consultant).
Performance:
Extreme Low Temp (-40°C) Roof Coating meets all
of ASTM D 6083 requirements for 100% acrylic roof
coating. Please refer to the attached Technical
Service Report presenting Extreme Low Temp (-40°C)
Roof Coating’s performance.
Special features:
• High flexibility of film.
• Excellent adhesion to a wide range of surfaces
• Excellent protection against water, moisture and UV.
• Membrane is stable in low temperatures – based on a
low Tg polymer.
• Very low water absorption, improves the stability of
the membrane in tough conditions.
• Convenient application gives good coverage over
protrusions on the roof surface – such as antenna and
solar heaters.
• Energy saving sealant – there is a reduction of the
building temperature during the summer months. There
is no need to whitewash the roof annually.
• Renewable
Specifications of Extreme Low Temp
(-40°C) Roof Coating:
Appearance: Snow white paste
pH : 7.5-9.0
Solids content: 63% ± 3%
Viscosity: 45,000-80,000 cPs (Brookfield LVT 6 rpm at
25ºC)
Application instruction:
Minimum Application temperature: 5ºC minimum
Surface preparation: Clean the surfaces to be coated
from lime residue, dust, loose bitumen and any other
loose material. Wash the roof with running water and
wait until surface is completely dry before proceeding.
Primary layer: Dilute 1 part (by volume) of Extreme
Low Temp (-40°C) Roof Coating with 3 parts water and
spread on the surface to be treated. Wait until layer is
completely dry before proceeding (few hours).
Note – that unusual surfaces (such as burned bitumenes,
fresh new bitumenes, polyurethane foam and
so on) – require a specific primer. Please contact Serafon
for consultant.
Main layers (Standard Extreme Low Temp (-40°C)
Roof Coating as sealant):
1. Spread between 1-1.5 kg/ m2 undiluted Extreme Low
Temp (-40°C) Roof Coating. Wait 24 to 36 hours to ensure
layer is completely dry.
2. Apply second undiluted coat of Extreme Low Temp
(-40°C) Roof Coating – 1 kg/ m2. Allow layer to dry 24-36
hours. (Depending on existing weather conditions).
Can be applied by brush, roller.
General remarks:
• Extreme Low Temp (-40°C) Roof Coating is a readyto-use
paste. Drying time between layers depends on
existing weather conditions.
• A period of 72 hours of rain-free weather must be taken
into account when working with Extreme Low Temp
(-40°C) Roof Coating, in order to allow the coating to dry
completely.
• Minimum application temperature is 5ºC.
• Uneven surfaces greater than 3mm in height should be
filled with the following cement mixture: 1 part cement, 3
parts sand and 10% (calculated on the cement) Serafon
GENERAL BOND (or other acrylic additive to cement).
Add water as needed.
Cleaning:
Clean hands and tools with running water.
Shelf life:
12 months.
Storage:
Reseal original container tightly and store in cool, shaded
area. Prevent material from freezing.
